Really beautiful setting, right by the water, very quiet, with a really cool view from the cottage. It is great for kids: playgrounds, little animals (goats, pigs, and even llamas), bike rentals, bikes... There is also a small grocery store, a restaurant, and even a bowling alley. On the other hand, the pool disappointed me. It is small, with only one slide. We are far from the domes and wild rivers we are used to seeing in France. Also watch out for the prices in the grocery store, they sting. Do your shopping before you come!

Just like the name suggests, it is a specialized site that offers a huge selection of campgrounds in France, but also in Spain and Southern Europe. If you are looking for safe and reasonably priced spots with pools, bungalows, or unique accommodations, you will find exactly what you are looking for here!

Val Thorens is a modern resort with very high quality infrastructure and activities to keep you busy during the days and evenings... If you aren't too tired, because there are really a lot of slopes to burn off some energy. And with the altitude, the snow is usually there waiting for you.

If you are passing through Bordeaux, visiting the waterfront is a must. The layout of the banks of the Garonne leading toward the city center (west bank) is very well done. Even though a fast traffic lane runs nearby, the pedestrian area is huge, very nicely decorated, and borders numerous historical buildings like those at the Place de la Bourse. In short, it is the ideal route to start your visit to the city before heading into the small streets of the center.

I really loved the few days I spent in Bordeaux. There is quite a bit to see, and you should definitely plan on 2 to 3 days to see it all. Even so, you do not feel overwhelmed like you can in some big cities. The vibe remains that of a regional city on a human scale. A big plus: the vineyards and the Atlantic Ocean are not far away.

I do not have the geological explanation for this rock covered by a medieval village, but it is very surprising. The surroundings are pretty flat and wild, with an appearance that changes with the tides, and suddenly, in the middle of all that, a rock with its medieval village, its little alleyways, its packed-together houses and its abbey. A curiosity of both nature and man :)

When you set foot on the island of Venice, you quickly realize that it has nothing to do with the mainland just nearby. No cars, you get around on foot or by gondola, no modern buildings... You are plunged into the past. I did not have the chance to stay there during the carnival, but the historical immersion must be even stronger with the period costumes coming back to life!

When you look at the details, the romance of the canals, the charm of the old houses, the coffee shops, the Red Light District, the constant presence of bicycles... It is hard to believe that all of this is mixed together in the same city, and even in the city center. Yet it is the case, and it works! It actually works really well, and that is what makes Amsterdam so special. A real experience to discover.
