Hidden away deep in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, this museum is a real gem of the capital, even if it is a bit small compared to the big Parisian museums. It is a beautiful private mansion that houses permanent collections of impressionist paintings in rooms decorated with period furniture. Plus, there are regularly some very interesting temporary exhibits.

Superb organization from landing on arrival to takeoff on the way back. A very good guide to help us discover ancient Egypt in Luxor, then another very good guide to show us the huge and intimidating city of Cairo. Boat and accommodations were spotless. Very good meals too.

It is true that the landscapes are sometimes spectacular. On the other hand, in terms of wildlife, I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping to see bears, large herbivores, big birds of prey... and nothing like that... maybe the human crowds are pushing them to hide?

Even when booking at the last minute, I have always been able to find a place to stay on this site. Years ago, you could only find hotels, but now you can find everything, from vacation rentals and apartments to vacation clubs and even airline tickets. By the way, speaking of airline tickets, I do not recommend Booking for flight reservations. They canceled my checked baggage option for no reason, and I had to pay full price for the checked bag once I was at the airport.

Unlike other cities of the same type, you will not find an old center here with a harmonious collection of ancient houses and picturesque narrow streets. The reason? The bombings from the D-Day landings. I am not going to complain about them since those landings allowed for the liberation of the country. The fact is that Caen has lost a bit of its splendor.

In a lush, hilly setting, this human-made project had everything going against it in terms of ruining the landscape. Well, actually, no! The view of this bridge stretching out in the middle of the hills is just magnificent and spectacular. Hats off to the architects!

Unlike other castles, the construction across several periods, with different styles, is very visible. It could have been a mess, but I think it gives this castle a lot of character. In any case, it is immediately recognizable. A word also on the gardens, which are splendid.

The cottage was clean and spacious, and the front desk staff was friendly and available to answer our questions. As for the pool, it is really top notch and included with the stay. Between the slides, the wave pool, the wild river, the natural light, and the heating, we had a great time there :)
