If you read my review of Borobudur, you know I was frustrated by the somewhat rushed way the guide showed us the inside of the temple. At Prambanan, it is the complete opposite. With the same ticket, you can visit all the temples located within the complex. And you can do it at your own pace. The architecture is beautiful, and it is enhanced by superb light at the end of the day. I spent half a day there without even noticing the time go by.

This temple, which is the largest Buddhist temple in the world, is worth the trip. In addition to being impressive for its size, it is very interesting to explore. The bas-reliefs carved into the rock tell the story of Buddha. The statues and stupas scattered around the site offer very varied viewpoints. The big downside is that the interior visit is timed. You have to book your time slot in advance, and the guide takes you around in 1 hour, which is fast compared to the size of the site. Since the ticket is also expensive, it is quite frustrating. To visit the exterior, you need another ticket, which is also expensive.

I was gifted a weekend at this hotel. I had read a few negative reviews following the reopening, but let me reassure you, the experience is wonderful. From the welcome and the meals to the comfort of the rooms, everything is exceptional! And it better be, given the price!

Much less known than other historic castles like Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte is worth checking out. The main building is very well maintained and truly embodies French elegance, both inside and out. The same goes for the grounds surrounding the castle, which are a beautiful example of a French formal garden. A must see

If you want to go swimming around here, there are your standard pools of course, but also some natural lakes. If you are looking for something a bit more fun, the Aqua Mundo at Center Parcs has everything you need, with slides, a wild river, a tropical vibe... We had some great times with the family.

Used this several times to book hotels, and I have never had any bad surprises. Rooms were available when I arrived and matched the descriptions provided by Hotels.com. As for the prices, it is hard to say if there is anything cheaper elsewhere, but they seem competitive to me.

Excellent location, right on the water with direct access to the beach while still being in the center of Menton. Professional and friendly welcome from the staff. Very clean and pleasant rooms. We opted for full board and the meals were perfectly fine and balanced. I would go back without any hesitation.

This former mosque turned cathedral is very beautiful. The interior is richly decorated. By getting an audio guide, you will learn a lot about the history and local folklore at each chapel. The highlight of the visit is supposed to be the climb up the tower, which offers a panoramic view of Seville. Arm yourself with patience because it is crowded, and it moves slowly. It is a beautiful view at the end, but I am not sure I would have signed up for it if I had known it would go so slowly.

Steep island in the east of Greece, you will find lush green forests there (which you will not necessarily find on the islands further south in the country), picturesque villages built on the slopes of cliffs overlooking the sea, beaches with crystal clear water, and a local population that will make you discover their culture, gastronomy, and crafts with a smile. Great vacation!

Tenerife, an interesting destination in many ways. The south for partying all night long and tanning on burning black sand beaches (it is a volcanic island after all!). The north part, more preserved and greener, has black or white sand beaches and small villages typical of the Canaries. In less than an hour of driving, you can go from one vibe to the other. So think about booking a rental car to really enjoy your stay.

Long sandy beach, several kilometers long. You will have enough space so you are not on top of each other. You can park for free nearby. Clear and shallow water, great for swimming with kids. Watch out for some spots where there are rocks and sea urchins, but hey, the water is crystal clear so you can spot them very easily.

For what is supposed to be one of the most iconic monuments in the Belgian capital, I was pretty disappointed. From the outside, it is not all that beautiful, and on the inside, there was not much to see. In the surrounding area, on the outskirts of Brussels, there is not much to see.

My time in Innsbruck was a few years ago now, but I still have great memories of it. It is a pretty, welcoming, and warm city with hearty and delicious food (if you are on a diet, you will like it less). There are some really beautiful hikes to do in the surrounding mountains.

If you are not afraid of climbing the 167 steps of this lighthouse, go check it out and head all the way to the top. The lighthouse towers over the cliffs of Pointe Saint-Mathieu, and on a clear day, it offers an incredible view of the ocean, the Finistere coast, the Crozon peninsula, and the Tas de Pois. I also recommend taking a walk along the customs trail that passes right nearby.

If you are driving from the Paris region toward Normandy, I suggest you plan for a half day in Giverny. It is a picturesque little village with some nice small restaurants that have pleasant terraces, and above all, the Monet house and its garden. You can visit the home where the artist lived, and his magnificent garden.

A lovely walk to take, with the Gallipoli castle in the background overlooking the calm waters of the Mediterranean. Treat yourself to a little break watching the boats come and go, it is so relaxing. I did not test them out, but there are sea excursions that depart from this port. If I had more time, I think I would have tried one, because there are quite a few islets or coves in Puglia that you cannot reach on foot.

The Windy City, as they call it, stretches along Lake Michigan. The view of its buildings from the lakefront offers a beautiful panorama. Walking through its streets also lets you see modern and classic buildings, all in a clean environment. This city, which had a bad reputation back in the days of Prohibition and Al Capone, seemed very safe to me when I visited. Great memories!

Everyone has heard of the Palace of Versailles. When people talk about Versailles, everyone thinks of its palace, and they forget that there is also a city that is very pleasant to visit and likely to live in. The city is green, it breathes, and it is clean. There is a neighborhood vibe with small shops, cafes, restaurants, and terraces where you can eat or have a drink until late when the weather is nice.
