Located really just a stone's throw from Futuroscope, this hotel also offers reasonable rates. It is not the most romantic spot in the area, but if you are looking for efficiency when it comes to budget and transportation, this place is perfect.

Located a bit away from the parks and Disney Village, you feel a little less immersed in the atmosphere. When you take into account how basic the rooms and the breakfast are, I am a bit disappointed compared to the price I paid.

Not too far from Barcelona, which is modern and festive, this ancient abbey perched on its rocky peaks offers you a radically different experience. An improbable place, coming from elsewhere and from the past.

Dozens of miniature scenes with super realistic sets and figurines. A ton of little details that are fun to discover, and the kids love it. The other part of the museum is the movie sets. These are still handmade sets, but this time in full size, though not always exactly, because the camera can play with perspectives.

For those of us who spend a lot of time in front of a screen watching movies and series, did you know that we owe this new art to the Lumière brothers? Did you know they lived and worked in Lyon? This small museum, established in a place where the brothers planned to settle, traces the technical history of cinema with original examples of inventions like the cinematograph and the photorama, plus screenings of the first historical films. Very interesting and informative.

Small museum that brings together various objects discovered in the surrounding area during digs at archaeological sites. The pieces date back to antiquity of course, but even earlier, from prehistoric times. We went through it pretty quickly. Not essential from my point of view, since there is just so much to see nearby.

They regularly have some good deals, and it is pretty well located near the coast and northern France. On the other hand, the place and its surroundings are very crowded with tourists, so do not go expecting an escape into the middle of the wild :)

I do not know if the water is warm enough for swimming in the summer, but either way, it is relaxing to just hang out there for a nap, have a picnic, chat, or read...

I went there during the off-season, so I was able to enjoy some very pretty scenery without too many crowds. I recommend the Sentier des Douaniers. The town itself is a mix of traditional old houses, which aren't always well maintained, with a few places that are a bit more recent and elaborate. Just a heads up, there isn't much in the way of public transportation. It was weird, and without being paranoid, I sometimes felt like the older locals were looking at me strangely, maybe an issue with my skin tone? But maybe it was just the color of my glasses. It is true that my glasses are an unusual shade of black for frames.

On the island, there are corners of nature that have remained mostly wild, and it is very nice to relax there, go hiking, or go diving. In Zanzibar City, I was pleasantly surprised by the architecture and the cultural activities. The slave market and Prison Island will remind you of the dark times of the African continent.

Stripped of sand in some spots, built up everywhere but poorly maintained, and dirty, this beach was a disappointment. It is a perfect example of a natural resource that is overexploited without any long term vision.

Lively, cosmopolitan, European, Creole, African city, with shops, restaurants, clubs, concerts, exhibitions... You can easily relax, have fun, rest, and above all stock up before taking on the many athletic excursions you can do on Reunion Island!

An ethnology museum that displays art objects and crafts produced by various African ethnic groups. Some pieces are very old, or even fossils. Interesting, as it highlights the history of a continent that is still largely unknown. Yet, this is where humanity was born. It is a shame that the exhibits are not better documented.

This large mountain park offers activities for every taste, including mountain treks (some peaks are over 3,000m high), visits to caves with rock paintings, and safaris in the plains to spot wild animals.

Relatively easy to navigate by following the tracks and the map (just remember that the sun indicates southeast early in the day, south at noon, and southwest in the afternoon). You can do it without a guide by taking a day. Normally, you will have the chance to see large animals up close, like elephants, buffalo, or zebras. Of course, do not get out of your vehicle! Especially since there are also lions!

As an essential pilgrimage site for Muslims, I expected to find a place that was huge and very elaborate. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see a fairly simple building that leaves plenty of room for spirituality. Try to go in the evening, as it is too hot during the day.

The special thing about this bridge is that it is 2,000 years old. It is still functional, and you can still walk across it to cross the river below. That being said, I don't find the bridge itself to be that impressive. It is relatively small and not very well preserved. The real appeal lies in the surroundings: the neighborhood, the river where you can cool off your feet, and the walks you can take in the local nature. In short, a great time for families or couples.

This park lets you go on some really beautiful mountain hikes in a very green part of Spain (the Atlantic isn't far). The landscapes are impressive, the nature is pretty well preserved, and the small, picturesque villages in the park are full of charm. Just a heads up, some trails are steep, with some dizzying sections. Get some info before you pick a route.
