Petra is a magical place. After walking through the Siq for a kilometer, the Treasury gradually reveals itself and, as has been written before, it is impressive. But I recommend continuing the visit and climbing the 800 steps up to the Monastery. The climb itself is sublime, with all those multicolored rocks and the panoramic view of the Nabataean tombs, but the Monastery is truly breathtaking, especially since the hike discourages many tourists! By continuing along the path after the Monastery, you also get access to a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains, which is worth a look. I was afraid of being disappointed by Machu Picchu, since I've seen it 10,000 times in photos and so on, but it was a marvel. You are welcomed by llamas (that keep the site's lawns trimmed), then Machu Picchu gradually reveals itself before your eyes. You really get the feeling of being in a mythical and unforgettable place. You have to do this at least once in your life to truly grasp the grandeur of this site.

Venice is a magical city that grabs you with its beauty when you let yourself be surprised by the details nobody pays attention to, by getting away from San Marco, or by walking in the footsteps of the great writers or artists who passed through Venice. Don't hesitate to go admire the sunset from Santa Elena, to enjoy the Giardini to get away from the crowds, to go for a swim at the Lido at the end of the day (in summer), to enjoy an ice cream or have a drink while snacking on cicchetti on the Zattere, to visit the Itinerari segreti (a guided tour is available in French and gives you access to the rest of the Doge's Palace to finish the visit), to go up the San Giorgio Maggiore bell tower (…
