Surprising
A castle that is different from what we are used to seeing. The exterior colors alone will surprise you. Very beautiful views to see on site.
Immense and resplendent
Between the gardens, the Hall of Mirrors, and the many other rooms, you will be blown away.
Way too expensive for what it is
It is not bad, but for the same price, or even less, you could stay by the sea in Tunisia or Turkey in an all-inclusive hotel.
Quick but fun
It is not a huge museum like the Louvre, and you can get through it in less than 2 hours. On the other hand, it is genuinely amusing and fun to let yourself be surprised by every illusion. I recommend…

If you want to see a show, I recommend using this site. There is a lot of choice, info, reviews, and great prices. Just one note about the interface, which is sometimes confusing. You will occasionally see several offers appear with different levels of discounts for the SAME ticket categories (or for general admission seats). I do not know why they do that, but take the cheapest offer! There are no benefits to the more expensive ones ;)
More expensive than a weekend abroad

I ended up getting dragged into a weekend organized at this Center Parc for a family reunion. It wasn't my first choice, but I went along with the group's decision. I didn't have a bad time, but I found the prices to be ridiculous compared to what you actually get. Aside from the pool, almost everything costs extra. The food is just way too expensive for what it is. Same goes for the paid activities. And yet, there are plenty of destinations abroad where a weekend including flight and hotel ends up being cheaper.
Very specific art

The most complete Van Gogh collection
Very well-organized museum for learning about the different periods of the Dutch master's work, whose life was not exactly the most peaceful. Other artists are also on display there.

This is a very famous beach in northern Sardinia, and it is a victim of its own success. First off, in high season, you can't just show up on a whim. You have to book your spot several days in advance! It costs money, of course. Parking is also a paid service. When you arrive, they give you a sort of mat to place under your towel. It is supposedly to preserve the area, but it is mostly to sort out who has paid and who has not. Be careful, as there are checks and fines for those who try to sneak in. Despite all that, the beach is packed and not particularly clean. It is a shame, because the colors of the sea are splendid. The emerald shallows stretch out for dozens of yards, and some small is…

These ruins date back to antiquity, and like Pompeii, they were buried by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Here, there are no bodies frozen by the lava to see, but an ancient city that is rather well preserved: stone paved alleys, old villas that have kept some of their decoration, and Roman baths. The whole thing is located in a kind of pit accessible by a walkway. You can get around it quickly, but the visit is interesting.

Less famous as a tourist destination than other big Italian cities, I was pleasantly surprised by Genoa. It is a pretty lively city that has an interesting cultural heritage and is nice to visit. Sitting on a terrace for a drink, eating some gelato, living the Italian way... Some great moments to experience. And if you are ready to get around, there are some pretty places to visit on the surrounding coast.

Renaissance fans often head to Tuscany for its artistic and cultural heritage. Florence and Pisa, for example, need no introduction. If you are coming during the warmer months, I recommend setting aside a few days to enjoy the Tuscan coast. In that case, I invite you to head to Monte Argentario, a hill overlooking a peninsula bathed in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. An old town, ancient fortresses, a lively seaside resort, pretty sandy beaches, and forests. Very beautiful place.

If you want to take a break and clear your head without making life complicated with logistics, gear, or long-distance travel, I think this is a really great idea. Well, if you are coming with a large family and have to pay for a bunch of activities for every kid, or eat full meals at the restaurants, it can end up getting very expensive. You might want to brief the kids beforehand :) Oh, and "Bois aux Daims" is not just a name, you are actually going to run into some deer.

I had the chance to attend an OL soccer match at this stadium before that cursed virus shut everything down. Positive first impressions even before getting inside the grounds. The path from the tram is new and well done, with clear signs to find the entrance. It is impossible to get lost. From the outside, the stadium feels big but a bit like a shopping mall. Inside, however, there is no doubt you are in a soccer stadium. The stands form a nice rectangular ellipse that closely frames the pitch. I think everyone has a good view of the field. The light shows on the grass and the stands are cool. Finally, the atmosphere, since that is what is important for a match after all, is good, lively, an…

This Center Parcs is very pleasant for a family vacation. Our kids, aged 3 and 7, were more than thrilled with the few days we spent at this holiday village. We were surrounded by nature, and we felt comfortable and free. We really recharged our batteries there. It is truly a beautiful place. The cottages are well heated and well equipped. A wide range of activities is available, whether you want to play sports, do water games, or enjoy outdoor activities... You can even rent an electric golf cart for quiet rides. A small supermarket with friendly staff is located nearby for picking up a few essentials. If you have a car, it is definitely more economical to do your grocery shopping outside…
