This was a very disappointing stay for me. We stayed in the Veranda Room, which had a balcony, 1 double bed and 1 single bed. I was disappointed by the window air conditioning unit in the room, which did an insufficient job of keeping the room cool. I was also disappointed by the sink that kept clogging up every time we'd wash our hands or brush our teeth. I was disappointed that there was no real privacy to use the shower without creatively shutting one door while leaving the toilet exposed. But the most disappointing of all were the ridiculous resort fees and there was clearly NOTHING resort about this place! One night I asked for a bucket of ice and got a large cup! No pool. Along the Atlantic coast of South Carolina, is a strip of sandy white beach called Myrtle Beach. The water is warm and usually clean. It’s a great place for swimming or just lying out in the sun. You can also see tons of sailboats. If you go, please know that it is usually very crowded during the summer months, as it is a very popular vacation destination.

What a delightful experience staying at this hotel! It was clean and very maintained, inside and out. The staff was exceptionally nice, which always makes a difference. Although we didn’t stay in it much, our room overlooked the pool, a golf course, and beautiful views of the mountains. We spent a lot of time in the pool, which was very much appreciated due to the extremely hot temperatures in Scottsdale. Towels are provided by the hotel. There are plenty of lounge chairs around the pool, but they need a few more umbrellas for coverage from the abusive heat of the sun. There is also a jacuzzi tub next to the pool. Mountains, palm trees, cactus, and beautiful homes in the mountains all make up the pretty landscape and scenery in Scottsdale, Arizona. Another thing that makes this city so unbelievably beautiful is how clean it is! It has got to be one of the cleanest cities I’ve ever visited in the U.S. Head downtown and you’ll find lots of restaurants, shops, and art galleries. There are amazing sculptors to see outside if you want to remain in your air-conditioned car and not go inside the galleries. Beware that it is extremely hot almost year-round! I visited in the month of May and it was over 100 degrees!

Miami is hot and so is its art scene! Wynwood is a creative hub, just north of downtown Miami. It’s a great place to view contemporary art. You’ll find tons of art galleries and colorful murals that line the streets throughout the neighborhood. In the center of it all is the world’s largest outdoor museum, Wynwood Walls.There, you’ll see giant, colorful and vibrant murals from some amazing artists. Please note that you will have to pay for entry into the museum and for parking.

Everyone flocks to Miami to party, but outside of the parties, I just wanted to see what the fuss was about, so I cruised around downtown and headed to the beach. It was ok, but there are definitely better beaches. There are great parks and lots of places to shop, but I didn't get to enjoy them very much. The entire time I was there, the weather was just brutally hot and humid, with intermittent storms. I was covered in sweat and stickiness. Maybe I'll try my luck again in the cooler months.

Although Barbados is known for its festive carnivals, it’s also an island to just rest, relax, and rejuvenate. There is so much peace and tranquility on this Caribbean island, with the white sand, swaying palm trees, and beautiful Atlantic ocean. The Bajan lifestyle can be quite laid-back. I watched as locals caught and cleaned their own fish. I took a stroll along the amazing shore, dipping my feet in the clear water and taking in the fresh air. Then, I did absolutely nothing but lay on the beach and sip some rum because you can’t visit Barbados without trying the rum, which is where it originated from.

One of my favorite spots is the Mont Royal Park. Surrounded by nature and an assortment of beautiful plants, it’s a great place to stroll or just sit and relax. From the Kondiaronk lookout, you can catch views of the entire city. We hiked up a bit to get a close-up of the 98 ft. Mount Royal Cross. Inside the Mount Royal Chalet, you can explore the paintings that depict the history of Montreal.

I absolutely love Montreal! It is one of my favorite cities in the world! The city is clean and well-maintained and the people are wonderfully nice. There are parts of the city that remind me of Paris, while other areas remind me of New York City. Nevertheless, there is so much to see and do in Montreal. Visit the Old Port of Montreal, also called Vieux-Port de Montréal, where you’ll find lots of activities or just watched the boats in the marina. There are quite a few beautiful cathedrals to visit, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and St. Joseph’s Oratory. We checked into the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, located at 1355 North Harbor Drive in beautiful San Diego, California. The hotel is in good condition, but I wasn't prepared for it to be divided into 3 different towers. The hotel is in an excellent location! It is so close to everything: the pier, the USS Midway, Seaport Village, the Trolley, Little Italy, tons of restaurants, etc. All of this is within walking distance of the hotel. The location is the best thing about this hotel. However, we stayed in a bay view room, so we had to deal with loud music and loud vehicles coming from outside. The 2nd best thing about this hotel: The Staff! They are amazing! Everyone was very kind and helpful. T…

From the vibrant boardwalk to the sandy shores, it’s a must when visiting San Diego. One portion of the boardwalk is buzzing with tons of vendors and eateries. Walk down a little further on either end and there’s nothing but oceanfront beach homes to view. It’s the kind of laid back beach where you’ll find locals jogging or chilling on their patios, while tourists are walking around taking in the sights. Surfing, cycling, rollerblading, and partying are all permitted. If you go, just know that parking is a beast. It took us over an hour to find a parking spot.

The San Diego Zoo, located in Balboa Park, is quite large, so be prepared to do lots of walking. There are so many animals, so you can easily spend a whole day at this zoo and we did. I’ve been to many zoos around the United States, but this one seems to have more exhibits open than others I’ve visited. If you do get tired of walking, there are guided bus tours that drive you around the zoo. There is also the Skyfari aerial tram that takes you across the zoo. We absolutely took advantage of that by the end of the day.

Hollywood! Where dreams are said to come true. Well, I don’t know about that, but it’s a cool place to visit. You can see the Hollywood sign high in the hills. Come upon Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard and there are many sights to see and sites to visit, such as the Dolby Theatre, Walk of Fame, and the TCL Chinese Theatre. From there, you can hop on your choice of tour buses to sightsee and look for celebrities, if that’s your thing.

Santa Barbara, California is incredibly beautiful! If you visit LA, it’s just a short hour and a half drive up the coast. We decided to take that drive and was very pleased. The beaches are beautiful, but if you get tired of visiting the coast, there are other interesting sites to visit, such as the Old Mission Santa Barbara, a beautiful Spanish mission established in 1786. We walked around and did a self-guided tour. Here you can learn a lot about the religious conversion and integration of the Chumash tribe. Visit the mission for both the beauty and the education.

I can not visit L.A. without going to one of my favorite spots, the Santa Monica pier. The pier is always packed, but that’s usually because of its main attraction, the Pacific Park amusement park. I’ve only been there with my sister and my husband, but it’s an absolutely great place for kids. There are rides, arcade games, and restaurants. Although the amusement park is completely free to enter, you do have to pay for your individual rides and games. If you’re ever in the Santa Monica area on vacation, make this one of the places you visit. It’s a great stop for family fun!

Beverly Hills, California is absolutely beautiful! With its breathtaking mansions and lush landscape, it’s a sight to behold. Gorgeous palm trees everywhere. After we were done cruising the neighborhoods to see where the rich and famous live, we took a 2-mile cruise down the famous Rodeo Drive to see where they shop. If shopping is your thing, you will find every high-end luxury shop that you can think of, including Chanel, Miu Miu, Gucci, Cartier, Prada, Dior, and so many others. I like visiting Los Angeles, but I don’t like sitting in their traffic! If you visit, consider yourself warned and be prepared for the traffic.

Austin, TX is so much more than a college town. Not only is it Texas’ state capital, but it’s also the live music capital of the world. From the many night clubs on Sixth Street to the vintage shops in the SoCo shopping district, Austin is full of fun and vibrant people that personifies Austin’s motto to “Keep Austin Weird”. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Town Lake, with an awesome view overlooking Lady Bird Lake. Great hotel and central location to everything. Just a bit of advice, please know that Austin is HOTTER than HOT in July and August!

Atlantic City, New Jersey is definitely a summer fun spot if you’re on the east coast in the United States. There are tons of casinos for adult fun, but nothing compares to the Boardwalk and Atlantic City Beach when it comes to family fun. If you schedule your visit at the right time, you’ll enjoy the annual Soar & Shore Airshow, formerly named “Thunder Over the Boardwalk”. Kids and adults alike will find the roar of the military jet demos and the aerial performances quite exciting and entertaining!

My family and I had so much fun at The Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ. We rode all the rides, played some amusement games, and enjoyed the acrobatic entertainment. If you visit the Jersey shore, this is a must stop for the summer. The Steel Pier boardwalk is a great alternative to the beach and casinos.
