San Francisco and its bay offer plenty of things to see and do. Architecturally, the city is very interesting, with very different styles between the downtown high-rises and the posh houses in the residential areas. In terms of culture and arts, there is plenty to do between museums, galleries, shows, and concerts. You will not be left disappointed when it comes to food either, with many great restaurants featuring very varied influences, and there is plenty to eat healthy! Even in terms of nature, you can quickly get out of the concrete to find yourself at the beach or in the forest. Cross the Golden Gate, and you will understand what I mean!

Visited during a trip to California. We took a boat from San Francisco, which makes a quick crossing to get to Alcatraz Island. Inside the prison, you could see the standard cells, with a bed, chairs, and a desk. The inmates were allowed to request books and go out into the yard. What was surprising was the tour of the high security cells for the most dangerous criminals, all dark and smaller. The inmates were not allowed to go out into the yard. Oppressive. Right in the city center, there is an entire archaeological zone with the super crowded Roman Forum in the middle. Honestly, it is a lot of old stones, but not all that impressive (unlike the Colosseum). Still, it is worth a visit for the historical significance.

I was expecting some small stone arenas, but I was surprised to see an immense structure rising up over several stories. I couldn't help but think about the people and animals that were brought there to be killed just to entertain the public.

Ideally located to enjoy the Disneyland parks, service and amenities are top notch, and breakfast has a huge selection of high-quality products. The only thing is the price, a bit excessive for my taste.

Great weather even in early autumn, lots of beaches to relax on and soak up the sun. But it is not just about that. I found it interesting to visit the villages, taste the local cuisine, and see what the local crafts were all about. Even hiking through this hilly landscape let me see the island in a whole new way.

It is not always nice and sunny in Edinburgh and in Scotland in general. That being said, the Scottish capital is both a historic and port city with a lot of charm. The environment there is much more welcoming than in Glasgow, the other big Scottish city :)

It is not for nothing that people sometimes make the trip to London just for the sales. There is always a way to dig up some crazy deals, and you get almost more pleasure from having managed to find the right bargain among the galaxy of shops. Of course, there is more to life than shopping, and more to London too. Plenty of things to see and do, by day as well as by night (these English people are never cold!).

I am not very surprised to see that there are political tensions in this Chinese megalopolis. Because, honestly, I found that the culture there was much more open and international than in the rest of China. And where you have a clash of ideas, you sometimes get tensions. Anyway, enough philosophy. HK is really an interesting city, with its own architecture, its neighborhoods, and its identity.

Generally, when you travel as far as Thailand, you plan to stay for at least two weeks. Personally, I would have been disappointed to only stay in Bangkok, the capital, for my entire trip, given everything the country has to offer. That being said, it is a stop I really enjoyed. It is a large, very crowded, and lively city that will surprise you as soon as you arrive.

We see images of Dubai all the time, like the new tower over 800m tall, the palm-shaped coastal development, and so on. These extraordinary structures are a perfect reflection of the country. They have poured massive resources into providing visitors with the most modern and spectacular infrastructure. Those who love glitz and glamour will find exactly what they are looking for. Those looking for "authenticity" will need to dig a little deeper to find what they are after.
