The sanctuary itself is relatively small and pretty simple. On the other hand, the location is just incredible. The staircase carved right into the rock to get there, the little garden hidden at the top of the cliff, and the view over the coast. It is surreal and a must-see.

I thought I would see a few animals in the distance, but not at all, you can see huge herds of wildebeest or zebras for example, and pretty close up. Our guides also helped us spot lionesses camouflaged and waiting. A must-do if you like wildlife documentaries.

We booked a trip with friends to the Tarn Gorges, and everyone has such great memories of the day. We were transported to the site, then hiked down to the river, went canoeing through sublime landscapes, enjoyed the cool water, and saw cliffs and rocks of all colors mixed with the greens of nature. We had a lunch break in the village of Sainte Enimie, which was full of charm and had a really good meal.

How do you preserve a part of the Berlin Wall without turning it into an urban eyesore and without erasing its symbolic value? Berliners had the brilliant idea of setting up the East Side Gallery. Many artists came from all over the world to cover hundreds of meters of the Wall with paintings and graffiti. Sometimes abstract, sometimes political, these works offer art lovers the chance to come and visit this Wall, and inevitably to take at least a little interest in its history. This is a great idea that highlights a neighborhood, a history, and art. It seems like a win for everyone, even if it is not always very pretty.

Great location in the old town of Menton, overlooking the sea which is not very far away, and close to all the shops, restaurants, and nightlife in Menton. From there, you can visit Monaco, Genoa, and the French Riviera.

Contemporary art is not for everyone. Do not expect to find canvases or marble sculptures by the great Renaissance masters at the Pompidou Center. Instead, just wander through the galleries and let yourself be surprised by the creations. They are not always pretty, but they are very original. More than just beauty, it is the creativity that turns out to be remarkable at times.

To me, this is the epicenter of cultural buzz in the world. On every street corner, you find creators, passersby with wild looks, impromptu music and dance performances, film sets, and a huge selection of museums and theaters (how many artists dream of performing on Broadway!). In short, a spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship is everywhere, and that is not necessarily true in the rest of the United States.

In just a few years, Berlin has become one of the most attractive and dynamic cities in Europe, whether for traveling or living. It was not a sure thing from the start, though. In the architecture and the layout of the neighborhoods, the history of the two East/West blocs is still very present. But where many cities would have undoubtedly abandoned, torn down, or rebuilt the less attractive areas, along with all the problems related to the "rich neighborhood" vs "poor neighborhood" divide that entails, Berlin managed to spread its economic, social, and cultural energy everywhere in the city, even in the most unexpected places. São Paulo is the economic capital of Brazil. There are a lot of corporate headquarters, employees, and executives. You can feel that the vibe is stiffer than in Rio. Just a heads up, it is also a student city with plenty to see and fun nightlife :)

This block of rock overlooking the city of Rio can be spotted from so many places. The climb up is via a cable car that gives you the chance to rise into the air above the houses. Once you are up there, there is a panoramic view of Rio, the hills being nibbled away by all the buildings, the ocean... You have to do it!

Who hasn't seen photos of this massive wall snaking over the hills as far as the eye can see? I imagined myself walking along these ramparts, alone against the world, feeling tiny and getting lost in the immensity of the place. In short, visiting the Great Wall, I envisioned a moment full of poetry and emotion. I admit I was disappointed to find myself in the middle of a crowd of people taking the same photos, squeezing together, and waiting to get the best viewpoints. It ruined the experience for me.

An immense city with breathtaking tourist sites. A crossroads of Chinese cultures. Aside from the rent, the cost of living remains low. You can easily stay here for a week without ever getting bored! The downsides all the same: distances, traffic, pollution. Unfortunately, it is not a myth.

While the city doesn't have many tourist sites, you can immerse yourself much more in the real China than you can in globalized big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. You find yourself at the heart of Mongolian culture, influenced as much by China as by Soviet Russia.

Out in the open, and for free, this "gallery" reveals a part of the dark Nazi history, with plenty of photos and press clippings to back it up. Take a few minutes to check it out, as it is part of your duty of remembrance.

The top of the Fernsehturm is home to a panoramic restaurant that rotates (slowly) on itself. During your meal, you can get a complete look at the city while staying at your table, just by looking out the floor-to-ceiling windows. The meal is relatively expensive (you are mostly paying for the location) but it is decent. Be careful, though, about the wait to get up there! I saw there was a "VIP" entrance with far fewer people, but I didn't know how to get through it. It seems that reserving a table at the restaurant is enough to use the VIP entrance. Another warning: bags are searched at the base of the tower, and water bottles or drinks will be confiscated without any hesitation!!
