I really like this neighborhood with its grid-like layout because it is beautiful, lively, and strikes the right balance between local life and tourist activity (whereas in other parts of the city, you get the feeling you are in a vacation resort reserved just for tourists).

Let's be honest, the inside of the castle is poorly maintained, and I think a good part of its splendor has fallen into ruin. On the other hand, what a pleasure it is to climb the ramparts and look out over Lisbon from that height!

I went to this stadium back when AS Saint Etienne was still in Ligue 2... and honestly, the atmosphere was top notch! The 43,000 seats were almost full for a second division match! You can really feel the passion and the true football tradition there. A must-see for any soccer fan.

Very nice, recently built stadium right next to the old San Mames. Even though it is new, it stays connected to the century-old history of the Athletic Bilbao club. Before every match, the captain of the home team comes to lay flowers at the foot of the statue of the former Basque goalscorer Rafael Moreno Aranzadi, also known as Pichichi, who died of typhus at the age of 29 in 1922.

Small seaside town that stays at a human scale. The sandy beach offers a pretty setting with its little rocks at the ends. It still gets a bit crowded in the summer, but less so than in La Baule, and there are fewer buildings.

At first, I thought I would find something very artificial and consumer-driven, but in the end, I discovered that you are right at the edge of nature. With a little walking or biking, you find yourself alone in the forest and you forget about the presence of other people. The Aquamundo is perfect for having fun with the kids. There is a whole assortment of other activities available, but they often cost extra. As for the meals, it is pretty mediocre in terms of quality or quantity relative to the price.

The second week of July, during the San Fermín festival, Pamplona takes on a completely different vibe. Daily life stops to make way for the ferias. People come from all over the Basque Country and beyond to meet up for joyful celebrations, including giant parades, concerts, bull runs, races, drinks, pastries, and traditional songs. It is at once folkloric, good-natured, lively, and open to everyone. A must-experience at least once, preferably with friends!

Less famous for tourism than other Spanish destinations like Barcelona or Andalusia, Valencia is still worth checking out. The city has a beautiful historical and cultural heritage, life there is pleasant, and it is cheaper than in Barcelona, for example. As for events, festivities, and nightlife, there is a lot going on! Finally, regarding the sun and beaches, the region will not disappoint you!

A big Spanish city, lively and festive, with plenty of coastline and beaches. If you want to spend your vacation tanning or going out, it is not bad at all. A good vibe is guaranteed. On the other hand, when it comes to cultural or architectural heritage, Seville, Granada, and Cordoba are much more interesting to visit in Andalusia. I do not really see Malaga as a historic city.

Easily accessible by boat from Vigo, the Cies Islands offer a guaranteed change of scenery. Forget the concrete and ubiquitous cars here, and make way for the forest, the ocean, and long sandy beaches. Rodas Beach is actually a strip of sand that connects two parts of the island. With the sea on both sides of the strip, and forest on both ends, it makes for a unique and very pleasant setting.

Located in an old fish cannery, this museum will appeal to everyone. It covers a bit of local history, starting from antiquity, through Roman and Arab rule, to more recent times and the Industrial Revolution. A period documentary explains how the factory worked. The second floor is actually preserved almost exactly as it was back then. So, you can see how the fish cans were assembled. Down in the basement, a reconstructed submarine is waiting for you.

Long line to get in (book your tickets online), for a fairly quick visit, unless you take your time. Interesting audio guide with a lot of information and anecdotes about Anne Frank's life. Our duty to remember makes the visit meaningful. Now, if you are only in Amsterdam for a short trip, I would not make it a priority.

A surprising city that can perfectly cater to very varied desires: a cultural trip (major museums), especially for art lovers, a romantic getaway strolling along the canals, a party trip with an active nightlife, or a relaxing trip thanks to the permissiveness of local legislation :)

Many people see Andorra as just a convenience store to buy tax-free cigarettes and alcohol. Fortunately, it is much more than that. The small capital of the principality is worth exploring for its heritage and especially its surroundings, which are overflowing with natural treasures. Things to see in the city: the Church of Saint Esteve, the Casa de la Vall. Around the city: the Pic de Can Ramonet, the Roc del Quer viewpoint, and the Coma Pedrosa Valleys Natural Park.
