People usually come to Quepos for Manuel Antonio park, which is a big mistake since the park is basically a tourist highway. On the other hand, I highly recommend Manuel Antonio beach, which is really great for learning to surf or just having fun in the waves. The vibe there is cool, even if it is very Americanized, and the sunset is incredible!

Arenal is a good stop before heading to Monteverde, the climate changes little by little and so do the landscapes. The volcano hot springs are perfect for recharging after a day exploring the magic of Rio Celeste.

Monteverde is a unique place in Costa Rica. Unlike the coast, the climate here is rainy and cool, which creates a perfect environment for lush plant life. On the agenda: a night trek to discover the wildlife, a walk across the cloud forest bridges, and canopy tours. You definitely won't get bored in Monteverde!

In Cusco, you really feel the Incan culture and the presence of the Sacred Valley just a few miles away. The buildings generally have Incan foundations with colonial architecture. Staying in Cusco is a pretty enjoyable trip through history!

Not sure it's necessary to describe Machu Picchu again, as it is exceptional in its grandeur and preservation. It is an unmissable stop for anyone visiting Peru, even if the site is inevitably a victim of its own success and the number of tourists is excessive... It is better to go in the afternoon, once all the tour groups have left!
