I have been to this park twice, and the experience is not exactly the same depending on when you go. - The first time was in early September: super fun, with different types of slides to try alone or with others. An excellent day. - The second time was in the middle of summer: huge crowds, which meant waiting for every big slide. As a result, I think I went down 2 or 3 times fewer than the first time :( Aside from that, the staff at the entrance is super present and attentive, so you feel safe.

Don't let the rather austere exterior of the building fool you. The interior is very cozy and warm, and you feel right at home. The staff is very helpful without being intrusive. Truly a great place to stay while exploring Puy du Fou.

Not the most expensive or the cheapest hotel at the resort, the Sequoia offers very pleasant accommodations with a big focus on wood decor. Large lobby, breakfast room, and large rooms. Good stay, nothing to complain about.

One of the older Center Parcs, so I expected to find a place that was a bit dated. Not at all. Very well maintained, clean, and some of the facilities and accommodations have been renovated. I spent 2 days there with my family and I wasn't bored for a single moment. That is true for the adults as well as the kids.

Let's be honest, you are not going to make the trip to Faro just to see its municipal museum. That being said, if you are already in the area and are interested in the history of the region, take an hour or two to visit this lovely museum. This former convent brings together works and archaeological artifacts that trace the history of southern Portugal.

When you walk through the streets of Lisbon, it is easy to think that azulejos are just the blue ceramics that decorate certain churches or old buildings. Well, think again! Azulejos come in every color and from every era! I really recommend heading to the museum dedicated to them to get a more complete look at what artists can create with these little polished stones. That brings me to the etymology of the word. I long thought it came from the word "azul" (blue in Spanish or Portuguese), but in fact, it actually comes from the Arabic "al zulaydj" (little polished stone). Anyway, that was just to impress you. I wasn't able to see the whole museum because it was under construction. I actually thought that this museum was underutilizing its potential and that it deserves to be refreshed a bit. The same goes for the garden, which could be showcased much better. Despite everything, there are some cool pieces to see, often by local and Portuguese artists who aren't necessarily known internationally. Besides paintings, there is also tableware, jewelry, crafts, and furniture on display. There are a few contemporary creations here and there, like that metal statue of a crippled mule loaded with bags. I'm still trying to figure out the meaning :)

With its very unique architecture and beautiful garden, it is for me a must-see in Porto that you have to check out at least once. The permanent exhibits are very focused on contemporary art, and the temporary exhibitions are quite varied. Each year, there is a Serralves em Festa festival that lets you, among other things, attend concerts or outdoor film screenings for a pretty good price.

Very diverse collections ranging from antiquity and the Middle Ages to more recent centuries. A must-see: paintings, sculptures, but also crafts and earthenware. Portugal's heritage is in the spotlight, but that is not all. Works from all over Europe, like The Temptation of Saint Anthony by Bosch, and from Asia are on display here.

This former palace of the Medici, a great Florentine dynasty, is huge and houses several museums. You can easily spend half a day there without having seen everything. Beautiful paintings, frescoes, and trompe l'oeil that kids will enjoy.

Let's start with the big downside: you will have to wait in line for more than an hour to get inside the cathedral. For the rest, it is all positive. This church, which dominates the city, is even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside. The internal architecture is majestic and the scale is spectacular. The frescoes that adorn the walls and the dome are splendid. Regarding the dome, if you are athletic and patient, I invite you to climb the steps that lead you to the top. The reward is worth the effort: another perspective on the church and its paintings, and an unbeatable panorama of Florence.

Unlike other museum cities that seem meant only to host and entertain tourists, I'm thinking of Venice for example, Florence has managed to preserve and value its past (birthplace of the Renaissance) while continuing to live in the present. Because of this, you will share the streets, shops, and restaurants with the Florentines who live and work there. Visiting this superb city feels all the more authentic.

During our stay in Florence, we decided to take half a day to visit Pisa and its famous leaning tower. Sure, the tower and its wonky angle are intriguing, and the buildings surrounding the square have charm. Nevertheless, if you only have a little time, I would not spend half a day on this visit. Florence, and even the Tuscan countryside, especially in the spring, are better choices.

In just a few dozen minutes by car (it depends on where you start, obviously!), you can get from Lisbon to Galapos Beach in the south. I recommend this trip because, so close to the Portuguese capital, you will drive through a very green forest to arrive at a magnificent beach. The setting: white sand under your feet, forest-covered hills behind you, and in front, a turquoise and calm sea with a few reefs full of fish that you can easily observe if you have the right gear.

Faro is a coastal, touristy city in southern Portugal that still manages to keep its own identity with its old town center. The most beautiful coastlines in Portugal and the most pleasant beaches (the water is warmer there than on the west coast of the country!) are found in the surrounding area. Discover the Algarve, with its cliffs, white sand beaches, hidden coves, and turquoise waters...

This red suspension bridge overlooking the Tagus River, over 60 years old, reminds me of the famous Golden Gate in San Francisco. It is worth coming to see it toward the end of the day to take photos with some pretty colors.
