Hôtel
Contemporary art meets convenient apartment living, perfect for exploring Baixa and the rest of Lisbon with ease.
Located on the Rua dos Sapateiros, just steps from the Praça do Comércio and the Baixa district, this 4-star hotel occupies a renovated Lisbon building with a bold design aesthetic. Contemporary art is everywhere, from the hallways to the individual rooms. It is a solid choice for travelers who want to sleep in the heart of the historic city without sacrificing comfort.
Location
The Baixa is the nerve center of Lisbon, and everything is walkable from here. You are close to the Chiado, the Alfama, the Tagus River, and the major shopping streets. The trade-off is that this is one of the most heavily trafficked areas of the city, complete with the noise and energy that comes with it, especially in the evenings and on weekends. Street-facing rooms can be noisy at times.
Rooms and comfort
The property offers both standard hotel rooms and apartments with kitchenettes, which are useful for longer stays or for families. The decor leans into original artwork and bold colors, giving every space its own visual identity. The comfort level meets the standards of an urban 4-star property, with air conditioning and Wi-Fi included.
Services and perks
The front desk is open 24/7, which makes late arrivals after a flight easier. Breakfast is available on-site. The apartment option is particularly appealing to travelers who prefer to handle their own meals in an area where tourist restaurants are plentiful but inconsistent in quality.

The location is remarkably good, right in the center of Baixa. Rua dos Sapateiros is a quiet street, even though it is located in the immediate vicinity of the very lively Rua Augusta.
There is a strong focus on the decor. It is a bit alternative and post industrial, which we liked. Others will probably like it less.
The service is friendly and helpful, with a few tips given for visiting the city. The young man who hosts the breakfast (buffet style) is really very kind, attentive, and smiley.
The rooms are very decent, with perhaps just one complaint about the bedding, which I did not find very comfortable. My daughter, on the other hand, loved her travel crib!
Finally, the furnished terrace at the top of the building, on the 7th floor, is top notch. It offers nice views of the city, which in my opinion are not far from being as good as the ones offered by the Elevador de Santa Justa located a stone's throw away.
