After a wonderful sunrise, heading to the Ngorongoro Crater, an absolute favorite, almost surreal. An entire ecosystem has formed in this huge caldera, the landscape itself is worth the trip, it is different from anything I have seen so far, if you were to do only one safari, I would choose this one!

3 days exploring Serengeti National Park, Tanzania is famous for its animal diversity and this is where I really realized it! Lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, giraffes... The park is huge, as far as the eye can see, and there are animals everywhere, every minute holds its share of surprises. Clearly the must-see highlight of this trip.

Less famous than its cousin the Serengeti, Tarangire National Park is a great introduction and clearly worth the trip. Elephants are everywhere, I ran into whole herds all day long, sometimes passing just a few yards from the vehicle. But the park is also all about giant baobab landscapes and way fewer safari vehicles than in the more touristy parks. A great stop for a more authentic safari, far from the crowds.

This little resort town on the riviera is nice to walk around, and the port is mainly the departure point for lots of half-day boat cruises that I strongly recommend! The small village of Qeparo is a bit quieter just a few miles away, where you can also visit the perched villages with a lovely view of Corfu!

Hollywood! Where dreams are said to come true. Well, I don’t know about that, but it’s a cool place to visit. You can see the Hollywood sign high in the hills. Come upon Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard and there are many sights to see and sites to visit, such as the Dolby Theatre, Walk of Fame, and the TCL Chinese Theatre. From there, you can hop on your choice of tour buses to sightsee and look for celebrities, if that’s your thing.

I went up to the Doi Suthep temple, perched on the hill above Chiang Mai. You have to climb a staircase of several hundred steps lined with two golden dragons to get to the top (or take the funicular if your legs are tired). Once up there, the golden stupa in the center is impressive, and the view over the entire city of Chiang Mai down below is clearly worth the climb. Lots of people there, especially late in the day, but the vibe stays chill and you can feel it is a real place of worship, not just a tourist trap. One of the best viewpoints in the area.

A truly wonderful trip to Madagascar, combining sightseeing and human encounters. We loved seeing the baobabs, watching the lemurs, and above all sharing genuine moments with the locals. The community-based trip was a great way to discover the island differently, right up close to local reality. The Palace of Holyroodhouse (the holy cross), right next to the former abbey of the same name, sits at the opposite end of Edinburgh Castle from the Royal Mile, and at the foot of Arthur's Seat. Unlike the Castle, the area around the Palace is much less lively. The Palace itself: you follow a self-guided route with audio guide commentary that leads you to the royal bedrooms and Mary Stuart's reception room, where her private secretary was murdered right in front of her by her husband. The tour lets you learn a lot about the Crown of Scotland, the Stuart dynasty, and how it joined with the British crown. Built on an ancient volcano, the castle houses several buildings from different eras. According to the guide, the site has been continuously inhabited for over 3,000 years, which apparently is a European record (though I have my doubts about that). I recommend taking the guided tour to get lots of info and fun facts about the castle and Scotland, from antiquity, the Middle Ages, and all the way up to the recent world wars. Try to be there in person if you want to catch the cannon firing, the one o'clock gun. From the ramparts, you get a lovely view of the surrounding area.

My nephew has been trying to get back to Hannover for 2 days. Today his flight from Frankfurt was canceled and he couldn't make it. On 8/14 he left Cagliari with a 4 hour delay for Munich. His connecting flight to Hannover had already left and he was left stranded, zero help from customer service, he had to find a hotel on his own and figure it out. Today his flight from Frankfurt to Hannover was canceled after he actually managed to get from Munich to Frankfurt! I hope my nephew files criminal charges against you because you are pathetic!
