Visiting the Grand Aquarium Saint-Malo
A specialized look at marine ecosystems
The Grand Aquarium Saint-Malo offers an expansive look at global marine life. You will encounter species from both near and far, ranging from the cold, dark waters of the deep sea to vibrant coral reefs. Each display is designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats, providing a realistic view of underwater life.
Immersive and interactive features
Beyond standard exhibits, the Grand Aquarium offers interactive experiences for all ages. The Nautibus, a miniature submarine, allows you to tour the main basin surrounded by fish. Additionally, the shark tunnel provides a sense of total immersion, as these predators swim all around you, making it feel as if you are swimming right alongside them.
A commitment to conservation and education
The Grand Aquarium Saint-Malo serves as more than just a place for entertainment. It is an active participant in ocean conservation. Through its exhibits and educational programming, the facility highlights the importance of protecting marine environments. Workshops are available for children and adults to better understand environmental challenges and the steps individuals can take to help preserve marine biodiversity.

It is not the most impressive French aquarium, but it offers several fun activities for kids. I really liked the virtual reality underwater experience and the Nautibus expedition. Remember to book time slots in advance, especially on the weekend. The touch pools were a big hit with the kids. You can touch rays and feed carp. Great idea for a family afternoon in Saint-Malo.
