Hôtel
A quiet retreat just a short walk from Vondelpark and the Museumplein.
Located on a quiet street in the Oud-West neighborhood, just steps from the Vondelpark, this 4-star hotel focuses on a residential setting rather than the hustle of the historic center. It is a solid choice for travelers looking to balance comfort with quick access to Amsterdam's major museums, without sleeping in the middle of the tourist frenzy.
The Location
The hotel is situated at Constantijn Huygensstraat 103-107, an artery named after the 17th-century Dutch poet and diplomat. The Vondelpark, the city's largest urban park, is a short walk away, as is the Museumplein, which houses the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Stedelijk.
The neighborhood is served by several tram lines, making trips to the city center or the central station easy without relying solely on walking. The area is generally quiet at night, leaning more toward local neighborhood life than nightlife.

I stayed at this hotel during a spring weekend, and I admit I was surprised by how rare affordable hotel options were in the city center.
Yes, to find decent and cheap hotels right in the middle of Amsterdam, you have to book in advance, which of course, I didn't do.
Anyway, while not smack in the city center, the hotel is well located. It is about a 30 minute walk from the central station, very close to Vondelpark, and a few minutes from the Van Gogh Museum. Personally, I was able to make most of my trips on foot. Above all, I was able to sleep there for under €100 ($108) per night, a psychological threshold I refused to cross. At the time of my booking, all the hotels in the center were above that limit :/
Otherwise, the hotel is decent, with friendly front desk staff. When I entered the room, I noticed a leak in the toilet. I reported it to the front desk, and they immediately sent someone to fix the problem. I didn't try the breakfasts, as I preferred to grab them in town.
