Right at the southern tip of Lanzarote, the port of Rubicon provides connections to the island of Fuerteventura, which is really close by, as well as the other Canary Islands. It is also a lively area where you can go for a walk and grab a table at a restaurant to enjoy some local dishes.

This castle keeps the place where Dalí lived with his wife Gala pretty much exactly as it was. If you are interested in this artist with his wild work and eventful life, you will appreciate being able to see the environment where he spent part of his life. The garden is very pretty, and the interior rooms are unique and quite immersive.

A beautiful little slice of paradise located in Calabria. A beach shaped like a sandy point that heads toward a rocky, cavernous island, under the watchful eye of an ancient fortress. The water is warm and crystal clear and really invites you to take a swim.

Designed by the artist himself, the Miro Foundation is a superb setting that highlights Miro's creations. Whether it is the sculptures, the paintings, or the indeterminate creations (a mix of several disciplines), the space and the environment are adapted to magnify the work. To top it all off, the museum is located on the heights of Barcelona and offers a lovely view of the city.

The tropical greenhouse is nice, but you run through it pretty quickly. Most of the rest costs extra. The meals on site are expensive for what they are. In short, it is fine for a weekend, but not any longer than that.

The thing that made this zoo famous is being able to drive through certain areas occupied by animals (monkeys and other herbivores). It is fun for the family. I went a long time ago, and I was impressed by huge, motionless snakes displayed in terrariums. They were so big that I thought they were fake at first, but actually no, they were very real. Are they still there? Conversely, I was pretty disappointed by the big cats. You see them from a distance in large enclosures. That said, it is better for them than being locked in a tiny cage.

For only 2 euros, you can visit this former military fortress with a paper brochure that explains the history of the place. Not everything is accessible, but you can still see some of the rooms. Some are empty, while others display period furniture and objects. The most interesting part is still the view from the ramparts. They overlook the sea and offer an unbeatable, almost dizzying view of the Calabrian coast, the beach, the fisherman houses, and even Sicily in the distance. There is also a small lighthouse to see, but it is not that interesting.

I stayed there for a company seminar. Overall, it is fine, but I find it feels a bit cold, urban, and large, and it lacks a bit of charm. When I look at the photos of the Sequoia Lodge or the Newport Bay Club, for example, which are other properties at the resort, they look much warmer to me.

Whether for its cultural and architectural heritage, its museums, its canals, or its gardens, Saint Pete definitely deserves the title of cultural capital of Russia. A really beautiful discovery to make as a couple or with friends, though perhaps less so with family.

You definitely won't miss its domes from the outside, with their different colors and shapes: solid gold, green, blue, and yellow with diamond or twisted patterns. It looks as if several architects made their plans independently. Still, the mix of styles works really well. The interior is just as impressive, with paintings and calligraphy covering the walls almost everywhere, and vaults that intertwine in a beautiful asymmetry.

Just south of the center of Porto Vecchio, this beach is surrounded by greenery, with a small strip of warm sand separating the sea from the pine forest, whose scent I absolutely love. For those who like marine life, there are quite a few fish to spot with a snorkel near the rocks.

Porto-Vecchio is a good compromise for those who want nature and a bit of energy for their vacation. The city is very lively in the summer, with shops, restaurants, cafes, and street performances. Around the city, you quickly get away from the buildings to find yourself in preserved nature, with forests, brush, cool little rivers, and of course, beaches.
