The Vauban Dam is a real architectural feat and a must-see when you are visiting the Petite France neighborhood in Strasbourg. There is an indoor walkway (free) that lets you cross the building from one bank of the Ill to the other. Drawbridges, statues from the Strasbourg Cathedral, and gargoyles are all on display throughout the walkway. When access is open (also free), I love going up to the panoramic terrace to take in this beautiful part of Strasbourg. At night, the Vauban Dam is beautifully lit up.

The facade of the Strasbourg Cathedral is stunning, with really fine details. You could spend hours looking at it, but it would be a shame to miss the inside. The stained glass windows and the astronomical clock are also absolute must-sees. The square where the building is located is also very pretty.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is a must see! First for its size, which makes it the most imposing building in the city, and then for its architectural richness. The Palais Rohan is an elegant palace overlooking the Place du Chateau, facing the Cathedral. It has the unique feature of housing 3 museums: archaeology, fine arts, and decorative arts. You can buy individual tickets for each of these museums, or a pass that gives you access to all 3. For my part, I stuck to the archaeology museum, located in the basement. It was an interesting visit, done in a little over an hour. You can find ancient objects there dating all the way back to prehistoric times and antiquity. This old fortification spans the river, west of the city center. You can go inside for free and climb the stairs to get to the terrace. Even though it is not very high (about 2 stories), this terrace offers a panoramic view of the center of Strasbourg. You can also hang out for a bit to watch the tour boats pass through the locks. It is free, so while you are walking through Petite France, why not make a quick detour.
