The Zocalo, officially named Plaza 31 de Marzo, serves as the main hub of San Cristóbal de las Casas. It is the primary spot to observe local daily life and soak in the atmosphere. Framed by historic architecture, this square serves as the logical starting point for exploring the rest of the city.

Along with the cathedral square, this is one of the busiest plazas in the city. Very pleasant in the evening, with a beautiful view of the cathedral and the shopping arcades.
