A very commercial museum

Unlike the cacao and coffee museums, also in San Cristobal, the amber museum is very much geared toward buying jewelry. There are only a few explanations about the extraction and crafting of amber in the region, even though it dates back to pre-Hispanic times! It is still worth the trip to admire the goldsmith work.
