Historic and modern

The biggest stadium in Mexico, where matches from the 1986 World Cup were played, among others.
A modernized historic site that has kept its Latin American soul. A beautiful monument!

A soccer landmark

I saw a match for the local club, America, there. Great atmosphere in a beautiful stadium, renovated not too long ago.

Electric atmosphere and impressive architecture

I had the opportunity a little over a year ago to attend a soccer match at this legendary stadium. It was America (the local club) versus Tigres de Monterrey, the first leg of the championship final.
I will not go into the match itself (marked by a goal from Gignac, "el Frances").
The stadium itself is very impressive, more than 100,000 people, stands close to the pitch, vertical, a roof that really resonates with the atmosphere from the fans, fans who literally sing, push the players, nice entertainment at halftime, vendors selling any and everything walking through the stands (estamos en Mexico !)...

On the way out, we treated ourselves to tacos on the street, and it was good!

In short, a great experience to have with friends if you get the chance.

Big downside: leaving the place. It took us 2 hours. We waited in the stadium for 45 minutes, then as I was saying, we grabbed a quick bite on the street... despite that, the car traffic after all that time was still horribly backed up. I do not know how to get there by public transport, but that solution is perhaps preferable to cars.
