This small town has kept a few corners of the countryside that are famous for their vineyards and olive trees. The "village" (downtown) is pleasant and has a few shops. Les Lecques beach is very pretty (see the corresponding article). It is a calm and peaceful place, between the sea and the countryside.

The color of the water is very pretty, with shades of blue and green. You can see La Madrague to the left and La Ciotat (Bec de l'Aigle) to the right. The beach is mostly sand, but there are pebbles in some spots. It stretches for 2 km and is lined by a pedestrian walkway that keeps us away from traffic. The beach is quite wide and the water is shallow for about 20 meters. The water temperature hovers around 25 degrees (77°F) in the summer, which is nice for swimming. For kids, there are 2 well-equipped playgrounds. However, this beach is a victim of its own success in July and August, as every square inch is taken. It is better to come before 10 am or in the off-season.

You can see the famous cell of Edmond Dantes that connects to the abbe's cell. Unfortunately, I find that the tour lacks explanations inside the cells, especially regarding the few rights granted to the prisoners, but also about the organization of the prison and the function of the different rooms. It would also be interesting to understand the classification of the prisoners and the various punishments that were reserved for them. This place is magnificent, just like the boat ride to get there, but I find that it is not showcased enough (mai…

A course that is certainly very difficult, but with exceptional views of the sea. It is very well maintained and the staff always makes sure to disturb the players as little as possible. It is highly recommended to use a golf cart or an electric trolley to get around the course because of the elevation changes.
