Understated elegance in the heart of Paris
Taking its name from the Jules Verne character Phileas Fogg, this hotel occupies a former family home that once hosted 19th-century gentleman travelers on their global adventures.
Opened in 2015, Philéas Lazare & Spa is a high-end property tucked away in the 9th arrondissement, close to the Gare Saint-Lazare and the Printemps Haussmann department store. Its architectural style blends classicism with modern touches, creating an atmosphere that is both polished and welcoming. Amenities include a spa, a 30-square-meter fitness room with high-quality equipment, modern meeting rooms for business travelers, and a personalized concierge service.
Culture and lifestyle
A soothing musical ambiance is provided by an in-house pianist, and once a month, a free jazz concert livens up the evening. Unique cultural experiences are also organized, including guided tours of Paris. Numerous theaters and museums are within easy walking distance.
The property does not have a restaurant, but you can still enjoy breakfast, stop by for tea time, or share gourmet snacks at the bar while sipping a craft cocktail. The neighborhood is, of course, packed with restaurants of all kinds.
5 room types
Philéas Lazare & Spa offers a total of 39 rooms, including 10 luxury suites. Each room features personalized decor that balances comfort with modern refinement. They are equipped with air conditioning, a safe, satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi. The suites are spacious and elegant, featuring separate living areas and panoramic views of the city. There are 5 room types available (Classic, Superior, Deluxe, Executive, Family), ranging from 12 to 40 square meters.

The room was relatively small (I think there are larger ones, but they cost more), but it was clean and comfortable. There is a spa area, which is also a bit small, but I didn't run into too many people there, so it was great for relaxing. My boyfriend and I booked a massage there, which was a bit pricey, but very relaxing.
The breakfast is decent, without any unnecessary frills.
