I really enjoyed visiting this palace, which is very extensive. The interior is richly decorated with some very beautiful objects. The tour of the inside is fairly quick. I loved walking through the park and the gardens, which are best to do when the weather is nice. They are beautifully maintained. There are several museums to see, including the carriage museum, the porcelain museum, and the palm house. Plan for at least half a day there.

I visited during a school trip with a guide and it remains my favorite memory of Bavaria. The silhouette of this magnificent castle, emerging from the rocks and trees, left me in awe. I felt like I was in the middle of a fairy tale! The interior decoration immerses you in a delightful romantic atmosphere, full of medieval legends, with some very beautiful murals. The view from the castle courtyard is stunning. I did regret that the tour was a bit short (about 30 minutes). I would have loved to take more time to discover the secrets of the monument!

It is also the castle that served as the model for the Sleeping Beauty castle (the best Disney movie in my opinion, by the way!). It is also the location where Luchino Visconti filmed Ludwig. Anyway, you quickly understand why it has been such a source of inspiration when you visit, because it is just so magnificent and eccentric.

A magical place, worthy of a fairy tale! The architecture and scenery are impressive, especially in winter with the snow. The guided tour is very interesting and the interior is gorgeous. Photos are forbidden inside the castle, and since the site is very busy, I recommend buying tickets in advance.

Less imposing than the Frauenkirche, this church remains a must-see building for its bell tower, its organ, and the beautiful fresco adorning the ceiling of the nave. For a few euros, I climbed the stairs to reach the top of the tower. Both the climb and the small platform are very narrow, but you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Munich, especially Marienplatz and the town hall.

Drawn in by the cathedral's two towers and their unique green domes, I went inside this impressive Gothic building. The monument houses some especially beautiful medieval stained glass, as well as the massive black tomb of Louis IV, Holy Roman Emperor. I climbed one of the towers to take in the panoramic view of Munich. It is a shame that there is no outdoor access and the windows are so narrow. Plus, it was gray out, so I didn't see much of anything.

A magnificent building, a large romantic park, richly decorated apartments, and let's not forget a sublime carriage museum. Nymphenburg really stands out as the German Schönbrunn. I recommend a guided tour to better understand the history of the place and its exceptional variety of rooms. Plan for a full day of visiting, because the garden is just as worth the trip. I walked around there for about two hours. Definitely don't miss the pretty hunting lodge or the Pagodenburg with its oriental style.

I couldn't leave without having dinner at this Bavarian institution at least once. It is a gigantic tavern with a wide selection of tasty local beers and traditional music, so everything is there to immerse you in the local atmosphere! You had better like cold cuts and sausages, because the restaurant mostly serves those, although they are very good. The only slight downside is that with the huge communal tables, it is a bit difficult to hear each other.

This is the building to see at Marienplatz. Its magnificent neo-Gothic architecture reminds me of the Rathaus in Vienna. The tower has a clock with a pretty carillon that rings every day at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Figurines reenact the history of the city at the same time. It is a show you should not miss. Unfortunately, I did not have time to explore the inside, but guided tours can be booked.
