An old defensive fortress that is very impressive, this castle is one of the must-see monuments in Lisbon. The visit immerses you in a beautiful medieval setting with walls, towers, but also gardens and peacocks. The structure is quite well preserved. I was a bit disappointed by the museum and the historical explanations on the audio guide, which I do not remember much of. The climb up to the castle is mostly worth the effort for the sumptuous panorama it offers over the rooftops of Lisbon. Plan on about 2 hours for the walk and around 15 euros.

Regaleira Palace is definitely my favorite spot in Portugal. Plan on two to three hours to walk through the whole place, there are just so many spots and details to admire. This place is steeped in history and legend. You really feel like you have been transported to another era.

It is a truly unique palace, with all its colors and architecture that is surprising to say the least. It is impressive because it was built on a hill, which means you can see it from far away. I highly recommend you take a guided tour so you do not miss any of the history of this place, and especially to avoid the endless line in the summer.

Even though the castle isn't in great shape, it's still worth checking out. From up there, you get an incredible view of Lisbon. The panorama is really beautiful and you'll be able to get some nice photos. If you don't feel like walking up, there is an elevator, though it's not always easy to spot on your first visit.

Let's be honest, the inside of the castle is poorly maintained, and I think a good part of its splendor has fallen into ruin. On the other hand, what a pleasure it is to climb the ramparts and look out over Lisbon from that height!

Don't expect to find the classic castle you see just about everywhere in Europe. The architecture, the colors, and the shapes of this palace will surprise you. The setting, up high, is very pretty, with a panoramic view of the surrounding area.

Very interesting visit that complements the Moorish Castle perfectly. By the way, remember to get a ticket for both visits, and also a ticket for the shuttle bus. You will save a bit of time and money. The architecture of the palace is original and surprising, the garden surrounding it is quite cute, the views of the city down below are nice, and the interior of the palace is just like the exterior: original! There are very informative signs that teach you quite a bit. I enjoyed walking through all the accessible rooms and reading those anecdotes and explanations.
