The Tower of London is one of my favorite spots. It is a must-see during your trip to London. The building is really well preserved, which is actually rare for the city. The tour really immerses you in the history of the city. The Crown Jewels are the perfect way to wrap up the visit.

The guided tour of this palace is really super interesting and lasts about an hour and a half. I recommend booking in advance because spots go fast. You learn so much about the history of the building and tons of little anecdotes. The interior is decorated beautifully.

The Tower of London is a vestige of medieval London, and there are actually very few of those left in the British capital. The story of Roger Mortimer, who was imprisoned there, really stuck with me when I read The Accursed Kings by Maurice Druon. This monument is truly typical of an austere era, but one that still fascinates me just as much.

Windsor Castle is really impressive, both from the outside and the inside. It is honestly huge. Inside, you can visit a ton of well-decorated rooms. If you look at everything in detail, you will spend several hours there.

The Cambridge branch of the royal family (William, that is) lives in this big palace that you can visit. Close to the heart of London and right next to Hyde Park, it is a really nice visit. Beautiful paintings and furniture, jewelry, it is still worth the trip.

The Palace is the seat of Parliament, so expect a lot of history if you go for a guided tour. The place is absolutely magnificent and a must-see, preferably by booking in advance. But be careful, it is not possible every day, and I find the tour a little (or a lot) expensive (around €70, or about $76), like many things in the UK.

I booked a guided tour well in advance to discover this must-see landmark. I really enjoyed it. The setting is sumptuous and I learned a lot about the inner workings and history of the British Parliament. In about an hour and a half, I felt like I was getting a look behind the scenes of power. Unfortunately, it is forbidden to take photographs inside the chambers.

If you are staying in Kent, I highly recommend an afternoon at this lush estate. The castle, surrounded by its lake, is very beautiful. I finished the tour in an hour. But what I really enjoyed was the peaceful setting and the wonderful gardens. On the weekend, a few activities are offered, including falconry demonstrations. A decent restaurant serves typical English pub food.

Not the whole interior is open to the public, and you have to take a guided tour (at least, that is what I understood). You cannot just wander around as you please, but it is still very informative. I lucked out with a passionate guide who really knew how to share their love for history and the little stories that make up history.

I really love the architecture of this castle and the decor of its countless rooms, even if after a while, you get the impression that you are seeing the same ones over and over again. The scale is impressive and monumental!
