The museum originated from the personal breakup of Olinka Vištica and Dražen Grubišić. The concept was to create a space for objects that mark the end of a relationship. The items on display are diverse and seemingly ordinary, including garden gnomes, bicycles, and toys.
Each object carries a heavy emotional weight. They are accompanied by placards that recount the specific love story associated with each witness to a past romance. In 2011, the Museum of Broken Relationships received the Kenneth Hudson Award, recognizing it as the most innovative museum in Europe.

I really liked visiting this museum, which is a real change from everything else we know. It showcases breakups through objects and personal stories.
