About this property

Accommodation category

Hôtel Spa

On the Lapad peninsula, enjoy a private beach, spa, and a peaceful location away from the Old Town crowds.

On the Lapad peninsula, this 5-star Valamar Collection President Hotel focuses on the open sea rather than the city walls. You are far from the crowds of the old town here, tucked into a residential neighborhood facing the Adriatic that feels much more relaxing than tourist-heavy. It is an address designed for travelers who want comfort and sea views right outside their windows, rather than waking up right on the cobblestones of Stradun.

The Location

The historic center of Dubrovnik requires a short drive or bus ride rather than a walk. In exchange, the property enjoys direct water access and a noticeably quieter setting than the historic core during peak season. The Lapad neighborhood offers its own restaurants and beaches, creating a more local seaside vibe.

Rooms and Comfort

The rooms lean heavily into the sea view, with balconies overlooking the Adriatic in a good number of them. The decor remains understated, featuring the light color tones typical of high-end Dalmatian coast establishments without feeling cluttered or kitschy.

Dining and Drinks

The hotel features a restaurant and dining spaces oriented toward the sea, where breakfast and meals are served with the bay as a backdrop. Several eateries and bars make it easy to stay on-site without needing to go out for every meal, which is a real plus for families or relaxing getaways.

Services and Perks

On the wellness front, the establishment offers a spa and pool area, which is a great asset outside the sea swimming season or to round out a lazy afternoon. Direct access to the water means you can go for a swim without crossing town.

Who It Is For

Pros

  • Direct sea access and Adriatic views from the rooms
  • Quiet setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the old town
  • On-site spa and pool to round out your stay
  • Multiple dining options without leaving the hotel
Good to Know
  • Transportation required to reach the historic center
  • More of a beach resort atmosphere than a heritage experience

Local tip: if the city walls and alleyways of the old town are your absolute priority, factor in the time and transportation cost (bus or taxi) rather than counting on an impromptu walk.

A bit out of the way, but classy and quiet

High-end hotel where I stayed 2 years ago.
Pros: spacious areas, comfortable rooms, terrace with a gorgeous view of the coast, same goes for the bar and restaurant, you can sit on the terrace with a sea view.
A romantic spot par excellence.

Very good breakfast with plenty of options, including fresh smoothies made to order.

The hotel has a small private beach, which I believe is gravel or pebbles. A few rocks around, which makes it great for snorkeling and seeing fish. Small downside: the frequent and noisy passing of jet skis.

Quiet location, definitely less lively than the old town of Dubrovnik.
That said, you have to take a bus to get to the old town, good to know. Figure about ten minutes on the bus, and they run pretty frequently.
