Having visited San Francisco in the summer, I was very impressed by the Golden Gate Bridge. Getting there isn't simple, as it requires taking public transit since it is not close to the city center. But once you are there, you can enjoy a nice little walk and even cross the bridge! A sort of pilgrimage, lots of people are motivated to walk across the famous bridge, and at the other end, it is a bunch of tourists but also a great sense of satisfaction and beautiful views.

Going to White Island costs a small fortune, but it is an exceptional experience! The boat trip is a bit long, but once you arrive, you walk on this volcanic island with a lot of excitement and apprehension at the same time since it is an active volcano. The guides are very well trained. If you are lucky, you might have the opportunity to taste the sulfur and the water found on the island. A unique experience in a very beautiful setting, I recommend it!
Beautiful
The Dunedin Botanic Garden is just sublime, especially in the summer! The park is divided into several sections and each part has its own unique features. A beautiful place for a walk.

Lord of the Rings fans, Matamata is the place for you! The tour of the Shire is really enjoyable, and the guide, who is passionate about the subject, knows what they are talking about and doesn't hesitate to share a few behind the scenes stories from the filming. The minor downside: Due to the heavy tourism, it is sometimes difficult to move around properly or even get decent photos.

Queenstown is a pretty town tucked away in the middle of the mountains and right on the water. On the other hand, it is very... very touristy! If you go there with the goal of not spending a dime, you will be disappointed quickly. The town is overflowing with restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, not to mention the agencies offering skydiving, bungee jumping, and other more or less extreme activities. It is a shame because the town is very beautiful and the environment is perfect for nature lovers.

Sherbrooke is one of the largest cities in Quebec, and you do not hear much about it. Yet, it is a great place to visit, in summer as well as winter. A cute little downtown, museums, art galleries, and tons of restaurants, you have plenty to do! Especially if you love nature, Sherbrooke is full of very nice little green spaces, notably Parc Jacques Cartier and the Lac des Nations. For mountain lovers, you have Mont-Bellevue, and if you have a car, you can even go as far as Mont Orford to enjoy the spectacular view (and the skiing!)
