A Normandy seaside resort that is worth the trip for its cliffs. Less known and less crowded than Etretat, it is a nice getaway to try. The walk on the beach is pleasant, and the climb to the top of the cliffs, via a pretty strenuous staircase or more peacefully via a funicular, offers lovely panoramas. One criticism I could make: the recent construction, whether for housing or industrial facilities, ruins the charm of the old town and the Cordiers neighborhood a bit. Too bad!

First annoyance, the vehicle they gave me wasn't the model I reserved. It was an equivalent model, because the one I booked wasn't available... Fine, I'll let that slide... Second annoyance, the vehicle was dirty and poorly maintained. And honestly, I don't see what excuse could justify that. In short, not serious.

This waterfall is one you see often in photos of Iceland, and it is easy to see why. The waterfall comes out of a mountain that towers over the plains, and you can find so many different angles for your shots. While you are at it, make sure to take a moment to look with your own eyes and keep the images for yourself!

I have used this site several times to go on vacation. There is not always as much choice as with other big travel operators, but if you dig around a bit, you can sometimes find some real gems at a bargain price. You do have to dig though, and compare prices, because the discounts they show sometimes seem unrealistic to me.

A stone's throw from the Beauval zoo, this hotel has a nice pool that is really cool. For dinner, it's convenient to be able to eat on site, but the quality isn't top notch. The seafood, for example, felt a bit frozen for my taste.

Huge property surrounded by forests, with real deer that are more or less wild and actually come right up to the bungalows. A small disappointment: I thought that in the Cenote Pool, you could swim among the fish, but no, the fish are behind glass windows.

Beautiful palace, a bit outside of Munich, but relatively easy to get to and surrounded by huge gardens perfect for walks. Not everything is open to visitors, and the guards will definitely remind you of that if you try to wander off the marked path. The visit is pretty quick, under an hour. The €8 entry fee is fair considering the status of the place.

Very beautiful botanical garden, with a huge variety of plants, flowers, and trees. Some sections are designed to the millimeter, while others are a bit wilder. A small stream adds a lot of charm. There are tropical greenhouses to visit as well. Finally, the garden is home to lots of little squirrels, and the kids love it!

A historic site from World War II and the D-Day landings, Utah Beach offers quite a few activities, in addition to being a pretty sandy beach: Landing Museum, horseback riding, sand yachting, shore fishing, swimming...

Long stretch of sand that changes quite a bit depending on the tide. By the seawall, the sand is completely covered at high tide and stretches out for a long way at low tide. To the south, near the sailing school, you can set up your towel all day long. It is actually a good spot to learn how to sail because there is always a bit of wind. To the north, it is wilder and full of charm for relaxing. There is plenty of room and you are not packed in like sardines.

If it weren't for a few preserved bunkers with cannons, a war memorial, and commemorative plaques, you would think this is just a pretty sandy beach to spend the day with your family. It is sad to imagine this place covered in blood. But it is also important to remember what hatred and human stupidity lead to.

I have traveled to quite a few cities in France. It is in Toulouse that I found the best vibe. Good natured, warm, but respectful, open-minded, cosmopolitan. Nothing like Paris, Marseille, Lyon, or Nice. To top it all off, the city and its region are very pretty.

The highest summit in the vicinity of Innsbruck, take a day to hike up from the Tyrolean capital. A bit athletic, but not extreme either. Good physical condition, good shoes, and a little planning are enough. Watch the weather to pick a day without rain. Go up at your own pace to enjoy the superb views of the Alps, the flora, and the fauna. For the way back, if you are tired, you can take a cable car that will drop you off in Innsbruck in 20 minutes. If needed, find its location on a map before leaving to plan your route.
