I was fascinated by the visit to this unique museum. I learned a lot about the daily life and history of the Romani people in Granada. I enjoyed the recreations of these fascinating underground homes, which are partially furnished. As with all sites in the Sacromonte neighborhood, it is a bit of a climb to get there, but you will be able to enjoy a superb view. It is a real local curiosity that does not attract too much of a crowd. Do not miss it.

This venerable building houses an important collection of maps, articles, and treatises on expeditions to the Americas. I loved the architecture of the place, especially the remarkable marble staircase that makes quite an impression as soon as you walk in! As a bonus, many varied exhibitions are offered here throughout the year. Admission is free and it stays cool inside during the summer, a great idea for a visit ;)

I discovered the Sacromonte neighborhood after reading The Seven Sisters. Once I was in Granada, I really wanted to explore this area. The museum is really well done. It helps you better understand the history of the neighborhood and the Romani community in the region. I highly recommend it.

Located in the magnificent Mudejar Pavilion, this very rich museum focuses on Andalusian culture, especially its traditional craftsmanship. I learned so much about local customs thanks to the many objects on display and the exhibit path, which does a great job of highlighting the arts and trades of the region. I loved the Velazquez collection dedicated to lace and embroidery, as well as the section on paintings from the costumbrismo movement, which I did not know at all. It is impossible to see everything in two hours, it is huge.

If I had to recommend only one museum in Seville, it would be this one. As a former convent, the building itself is magnificent, especially its interior courtyard decorated with shrubs. The fascinating permanent collections feature works from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period. I admired the paintings and sculptures of many Spanish artists, notably Zurbaran, El Greco, and Velasquez, but also a few by Brueghel. I really loved the Portrait of Jorge Manuel and the statue of San Jeronimo. Plan on a good half day for your visit.

I was mostly interested in the site of this former monastery, which became a ceramic factory. I really liked the monument, with its silhouette reflecting in the water. It houses two lovely cloisters and chapels that reflect the architecture of the time, plus a very pleasant terrace. I went on a Sunday and caught a free jazz concert (check the schedule on the museum website). I found the collections interesting, sometimes strange. There are some beautiful ceramics and Andalusian paintings, but also some pretty elusive works. I would not recommend it if you are not an art lover.

The Museum of Fine Arts of Seville is located in a truly exceptional setting. While the works on display are all very interesting, the setting is just as much so. This former convent houses many small gardens that are all very pleasant. It is a visit I highly recommend. Plan on about two hours to see everything.

The cave dwellings of Sacromonte are a real curiosity in Granada. This is where the city's Gypsy and Moorish communities lived and took refuge. There are still many occupied homes. There are even good restaurants and great flamenco stages! To understand the history of these dwellings carved directly into the mountain, and to see what they look like (several houses and workshops are reconstructed), this museum is very well done. You won't find this anywhere else, so go for it!

Interesting for modern art lovers, but heads up, you will have seen all the permanent and temporary exhibits in 1 hour, whereas a half day wouldn't be enough at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It's not that problematic of course, but you just need to keep that in mind so you aren't disappointed.

Relatively new museum that contains artwork and craft objects found locally at archaeological sites. Interesting without being a must-see, you will learn quite a bit about the eventful history of Andalusia.
