During the winter, Le Grand-Bornand becomes a snowy playground for winter sports enthusiasts. The terrain offers varied runs for skiers of all levels. Beyond downhill skiing, visitors can try snowboarding, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing to explore the local trails. The resort maintains its architectural heritage, featuring traditional wooden chalets that blend into the landscape.
The ski area includes:
- 90km of trails
- 47 runs for all skill levels
- 24 ski lifts

In summer
In the summer, Le Grand-Bornand shifts to green pastures, providing terrain for hiking and cycling. Marked paths allow nature lovers to spot local flora and fauna against the backdrop of the alpine peaks. Those interested in rock climbing can access the surrounding limestone faces.
Local heritage
Beyond outdoor activities, Le Grand-Bornand offers an authentic experience in its historic center, Grand Bornand Village, situated at an altitude of 1000m. The cobblestone streets, craft shops, and traditional restaurants highlight the regional culture. Local food remains a focus, particularly reblochon, the iconic cheese of the Savoie region.
For my part, I went to Grand Bornand out of season and I found the resort very pleasant. It is a place that stays lively all year round. If you want to enjoy the mountains in the spring or summer, it is a great starting point. Even when you are not skiing, it is super.
