Visiting Canada's Wonderland
Canada's Wonderland stands as one of the premier amusement parks in the country. Located in Vaughan, about 22 miles north of Toronto, the park is best known for its roller coaster collection. It houses the fastest coaster in Canada.
History
After an extensive search for the ideal location, investors Taft Broadcasting Company and Great West Life Assurance Company settled on Vaughan. The primary drivers were its proximity to Toronto and the ease of access provided by the regional highway network.
Construction began in 1979, requiring the coordination of 12 architecture and engineering firms. Following two years of development, the park held its grand opening on May 23, 1981. The ceremony featured 12,000 helium balloons, 13 skydivers, 350 white doves, and multiple marching bands, turning the launch into a national event.
In 1992, the park underwent a significant expansion to incorporate a water park. This project included the construction of the largest outdoor wave pool in Canada, along with 13 additional attractions.
Attractions
The park is organized into 8 themed zones. Action Zone serves as the hub for high-intensity thrills, focusing on roller coasters and high-speed rides. International Festival and International Street are smaller areas with a handful of classic rides. Medieval Faire features film-style production design to emulate a medieval town, while also hosting several thrill-focused roller coasters. Splash Works and Whitewater Canyon make up the aquatic areas. The former offers standard water attractions, while the latter primarily features a 3D theater with motion-base seating.
Younger visitors are well-catered to in Planet Snoopy and Kidzville, which combined offer more than 23 rides designed specifically for children.
The park maintains its popularity by introducing new rides and live shows on a yearly basis.

This amusement park really blew me away in terms of thrills. The park offers activities for kids and adults alike. The most spectacular ones are geared toward adults who will definitely get their money's worth! The roller coasters and big thrill rides are impressive, and you need a strong stomach. There is no equivalent compared to the parks I have visited in France. A park to check out if you are looking for a major adrenaline rush.
