Westlake Park, located just across the street, serves as Seattle's de facto public square. Celebrities make appearances here, protesters gather, and the city lights its Christmas tree annually. The space captures the democratic and fast-paced essence of Seattle.
A culinary trip to Southeast Asia
Since November 2022, Asean StrEAT Food Hall has transformed the ground floor into a bustling Asian street market. Bright neon lights, constant chatter, and the scent of lemongrass create an electric atmosphere. Ten stalls offer specialties from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.
The Malaysian laksa arrives steaming, its coconut milk broth speckled with golden chili oil and yellow curry. You will hear staff calling out from behind their counters when orders are ready, featuring dishes like hang lay pork curry, ukoy shrimp fritters, and Singapore noodles. The food hall was recognized by Delish as one of the seven best food halls in the United States in 2023.

Shopping and urban connections
The shops at Westlake Center prioritize variety: Nordstrom Rack for fashion deals, Sephora for beauty, and Daiso for affordable Japanese finds. The vibe has moved away from the polished, massive American malls of the past. The space has matured into a pragmatic hub for busy Seattleites.
The historic monorail
On the third floor, the Monorail departs every 10 minutes for Seattle Center. This suspended train dates back to the 1962 World's Fair. The 3-minute ride whisks you toward the Space Needle, MoPOP, and Climate Pledge Arena.
The underground Westlake station

Westlake Center is right next to these two city attractions and remains a really nice spot. You find luxury brands there, but also local producers in very warm, small shops.
