Camp Nou

Where to stay near Camp Nou: the 3 areas to know in 2026

The Camp Nou that most pages describe no longer quite exists: the ground is a building site people play in. The club came back on 22 November 2025 with 45,401 seats open, has 62,652 since March 2026, and the project announces about 105,000 at the end of the works, every one of them under a roof. One of our members, who came after the reopening, sums it up in two words: fully renovated.

What that changes for a night nearby is concrete. The pitch, the stands and the changing rooms cannot be visited for now, the club museum has moved into a neighbouring building, and the ticket gives you a view over the construction. So the stadium no longer fills a day: what stands around the hotel counts as much as the metres between it and the gates.

The two ways to stay near Camp Nou

As long as the works last, the real question is no longer the distance to the gates, but what you do with the hours when the stadium is shut.

What changes At the foot of the stadium In the centre
Getting to the ground On foot, in a few minutes One metro line, with no change
The rest of the day The metro for everything, dinner included The monuments and the terraces on foot
The price of the night That of an office district That of the centre, the highest of the three
Arriving by train 2.6 kilometres from Sants station One metro stop from the station
With children The club museum and its shop The beach 7.8 kilometres off, and Park Güell
On a small budget A hostel, and the best score of these three areas Rooms, rarely dormitory beds
On a match night You are back before the announcements end The metro, then a city still open
Who for Anyone here for Barça Anyone here for Barcelona, Barça included

How long to the entrance, area by area?

The kilometres below follow the road from the gates. Two metro lines serve the ground, and that is where everything is decided.

From Time How
Les Corts, at the foot of the building site on foot walking
The three addresses announce three, five and five minutes of walking.
Sants, around the station 2.6 km metro lines 3 or 5

Les Corts, at the foot of the building site A few minutes' walk from the gates, metro line 3

Anyone here to see the ground, leaving the next day

The district that carries the stadium is neither touristic nor nocturnal: residential streets, offices along the Diagonal avenue 2.1 kilometres away, and the university a little further. Three very dissimilar houses occupy the few streets around, from the hostel to the large hotel on plaça de Pius XII. You settle here for the ground, and to see it without transport, knowing that the rest of Barcelona will ask for the metro, and that the Pedralbes monastery, 2.5 kilometres off, supplies the only sight in the surroundings.

Gigantic, imposing, renovated, and a legendary club

Sants, around the station 2.6 kilometres away, where the trains arrive

Anyone pairing Barcelona with another Spanish city

Barcelona Sants station is where the high-speed trains arrive, and 2.6 kilometres separate it from the stadium, which it reaches on line 5 as well as on line 3. The hotels of the district are judged on one thing, and they know it: the distance to the tracks. One is inside the station building itself, another fifty metres away, the third five minutes. The district lacks the beauty of the Eixample, but it settles the question for anyone arriving with luggage in the morning and leaving for Madrid or Valencia the day after next.

The centre, from Plaça de Catalunya to the Ramblas 5.5 kilometres away, on metro line 3

Anyone here for Barcelona, adding the stadium

Between the stadium and Plaça de Catalunya, metro line 3 makes the trip with no change, and it is the same line that then serves the Ramblas. Sleeping here turns the question around: the ground becomes one outing in a trip that belongs to the city, with the Sagrada Família 6.5 kilometres away, Park Güell 6.2 and Barceloneta beach 7.8. Our members themselves rank the ground alongside the great Barcelona sights, beside the others, and not above them.

Cons

  • 5.5 kilometres to cover twice

Our tips for booking the right place

  • What can be visited today, and what cannot: The only tour on offer is the Barça Immersive Tour: the club museum in its new building, an audio guide, an immersive room and a viewpoint over the construction, from $32* for an adult, $24* for children aged 6 to 13 and for seniors, free below 6. The pitch, the stands and the changing rooms stay closed: our members who describe the three tiers of seating and the vertigo at the edge of the pitch are recounting the stadium from before the works. The museum, for its part, keeps its promises: more than one of our members found it better than expected.
  • The capacity rises in steps, and the roof comes afterwards: The Espai Barça works open the stadium piece by piece: 27,000 seats in October 2025, 45,401 when the club returned on 22 November 2025, 62,652 since 10 March 2026, and about 105,000 announced at the end. The roof, 48,000 square metres of which 18,000 of photovoltaic panels, is to be installed from June 2027, over four to five months. One of our members wrote, before all of this, that it was a shame there was no roof over all the stands, and that it seemed to be planned: the answer has arrived, with a date.
  • Check where Barça is playing before booking far ahead: To install the roof, the club has filed a request to play the first half of the 2027-2028 season at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, in Montjuïc, 5.6 kilometres from the Camp Nou, with a return announced for the second half and about 95,000 seats. It is not a decision yet, but it is enough to change a hotel choice for a trip planned long in advance: look up where your match is played before locking a room in Les Corts.
Where not to stay near Camp Nou
  • Booking in Les Corts while counting on the district for dinner and the evening: offices and apartment blocks make up the whole scenery, and life is elsewhere.
  • Coming to see the pitch and the changing rooms: they are not accessible during the works, and the tour stops at the museum and the viewpoint.
  • Believing the ground still shows its 100,000 seats: it serves 62,652 since March 2026, and that number rises licence by licence.

FAQ: where to stay near Camp Nou

Should you sleep at the foot of the Camp Nou or in the centre?
Both hold up, and the works tip the balance. In Les Corts, a few minutes of walking are enough to reach the gates, and the rates are those of an office district; on the other hand, once the tour is over, the sector offers nothing more. In the centre you pay more and you put 5.5 kilometres between yourself and the ground, which metro line 3 covers with no change, and you have the city.
How many seats does the Camp Nou have today?
62,652 since the licence of 10 March 2026. The club had reopened its stadium on 22 November 2025 with 45,401 seats, after a first phase at 27,000 in October 2025, and the project aims at about 105,000 covered seats at the end of the works. Our members who speak of 100,000 seats and three tiers are describing the ground from before the works.
Can you go inside the stadium during the works?
Partly. The Barça Immersive Tour gives access to the club museum, installed in a neighbouring building, to an immersive room, to an audio guide and to a view over the construction, from $32* for an adult. The pitch, the stands and the changing rooms, however, are closed. Our members, including those who say they care little for football, find the museum and the shop well worth the detour.
How do you reach the Camp Nou by metro?
On line 3, which stops at Les Corts, Palau Reial and Maria Cristina, or on line 5, whose Collblanc station is 700 metres from the gates. Line 3 links the stadium directly to Plaça de Catalunya and the Ramblas, which makes it the thread of this guide: one line, no change, and the three areas of this page sit on it or beside it.
What is there to do around the stadium apart from the tour?
The immediate surroundings are residential: apart from the Pedralbes monastery, 2.5 kilometres away, there is hardly a sight, and the Diagonal avenue begins 2.1 kilometres off. Everything else asks for the metro: the Sagrada Família is 6.5 kilometres from the stadium, Park Güell 6.2 and Barceloneta beach 7.8. Our guide to where to stay in Barcelona details the neighbourhoods one by one, work this page does not have to repeat.
How do you get to the Camp Nou by train or by plane?
Barcelona Sants station stands 2.6 kilometres from the ground, linked by metro lines 3 and 5, and Barcelona-El Prat airport 15.9 kilometres away. In a city of 1,620,343 people where two metro lines lead to the gates, renting a car is a pointless expense.
