Visiting BMW Welt
First opened to the public in 2007, BMW Welt is located in Munich, right next to the headquarters of the famous German automaker, the brand museum, and the historic car production plant. BMW Welt serves as a hybrid between a dealership and an exhibition center, featuring displays dedicated to the brand's latest models and the future of mobility.
The most visited landmark in Bavaria
BMW Welt draws approximately 2 million visitors annually, and tens of thousands of people come here each year to take delivery of their new vehicles. The building features a futuristic design by the Austrian architecture firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and is defined by its glass panels. The 8,000 square meter roof houses 3,600 solar panels, allowing the facility to generate its own heating.
Inside, visitors find an expansive showroom displaying the most prestigious models from the automaker. You will find the latest BMWi hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as simulators and exhibits on mechanical innovations and new design concepts. The space covers everything from Husqvarna motorcycles to MINI vehicles and Rolls-Royce, the luxury brand under the BMW umbrella.
The future of mobility
The permanent exhibition at BMW Welt, the FUTURE Forum, explores the future of mobility, covering modern topics like the metaverse and virtual environments. The intersection of sustainable development and motorized travel is also a central theme. The facility includes an interactive area for children with various workshops, as well as conference spaces and dining options to round out the experience.
