You can easily find cheaper places to stay in Barcelona.
But if you have a little extra budget to treat yourself, I highly recommend the HCC. It is in a lively neighborhood day and night (shops, bars, restaurants, clubs, monuments...). The facilities are top notch, especially the pool and the terrace.
Even if you need to eat on site, the hotel restaurant is very good (but expensive!).
