The celebrations and ceremonies of Louis XIV at Versailles are legendary. But did you know that it was at the Château de Marly, which was demolished after the revolution, that the Sun King preferred to relax and entertain his inner circle? Inspired by the architecture of the Château de Marly, Le Grand Siècle - Puy du Fou offers you the chance to experience a stay in a place that no longer exists today.

Located on the edge of the Puy du Fou hotel complex and surrounded by a formal French garden, the 8 pavilions that make up Le Grand Siècle - Puy du Fou provide two levels of quiet rooms capable of accommodating up to 4 guests and a baby. You will immediately notice the Louis XIV-inspired decor, including abundant gilding, columns, large windows, bright light, and white marble busts. Rooms are equipped with a double bed measuring 160cm x 200cm and 2 bunk beds measuring 90cm x 190cm. Upon request and subject to availability, a crib can be added to your room. Other amenities include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, cable television, luggage storage, free parking, and room service.

What awaits you on-site: a beautiful French garden with manicured lawns, flower and tree beds, and a fountain. There is also a bar serving hot and cold drinks, and a striking restaurant decorated in the style of the hotel with gilding and chandeliers. With a capacity of 500 guests, this large restaurant serves traditional French cuisine for every meal of the day during the high season.

Le Grand Siècle, or the feeling of living at Versailles

During my first trip to Puy du Fou, my wife surprised me by booking this hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised by how grand the place was. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and well-stocked (we didn't have any other meals on-site), and the staff was very polite. It was a real pleasure to walk to the park.

Gold leaf everywhere

Inspired by the Louis XIV era and the Palace of Versailles from what I gathered, it is relatively new, clean, elegant, with gold leaf pretty much everywhere.
For the record, when I saw the toilet bowl carved right out of the marble, I was afraid it would be uncomfortable at first, but actually no, it is fine.

Living like a King

Gold gilding everywhere, marble, lots of space, the inspiration of the Sun King, Louis XIV, is obvious as soon as you hit the lobby.
We slept really well, it is a very quiet place surrounded by meadows. The breakfast and dinner buffets are good quality. A bit farther from the main park compared to other hotels at Puy du Fou, but it is still totally doable on foot.

Spacious and classy rooms

With a Louis XIV style, the hotel and rooms are very pleasant, with plenty of space, cleanliness, and a "royal" decor.
The one little thing they could have brought up to date instead of sticking to the era: the throne... the toilet is set in a block of marble... a bit hard and cold ^-^

Impeccable

Spacious, flamboyant decor, clean, comfortable, quiet, and hearty, delicious buffets for meals... I don't see what I could possibly complain about with this hotel :)

Top notch

Hotel inspired by the Louis XIV era, royalty in all its grandeur, gilding, and so on.
Great welcome, great rooms, cozy and romantic as can be.
A little more expensive than the other hotels at Puy du Fou, but perfect for a great time as a couple.

Really nice place but a bit far from Puy du Fou

The place is really beautiful, very clean, and well-maintained (I believe it is relatively new), with a successful effort put into the decor to make it look authentic and period-appropriate. You feel like you have been transported back to past centuries. I found the staff to be really professional and welcoming. The only minor downside is that, on foot, it is a bit far from the attractions and shows. So yes, there is a free shuttle to make the trip, but I had to find something to complain about!
