Résidence hôtelière
At first glance, you would not guess this is a hotel. Yet, this historic 18th-century Vendée farmhouse is the second of six properties built at the Puy du Fou.
The story of a repurposed farmhouse
While the original farmhouse predates the park by a long shot, the hotel itself did not open until 2009, following extensive renovations. To completely rethink the interior architecture, Le Logis de Lescure - Puy du Fou brought in architect and designer Thierry Rétif. He drew inspiration from the vibrant life of the young scholar who once lived here, the Marquis Louis-Marie de Lescure, to create a distinct 4-star hotel experience.
It makes perfect sense, then, to find four duplex suites inside. Each one is warm and elegant, but more importantly, they are each uniquely designed.
4 suites, 4 distinct moods
The Cabinet des Curiosités (Curiosity Cabinet) likely gets its name from the abundance of strange objects scattered throughout the decor, reflecting the young Marquis's passion for travel and his taste for the exotic.
The atmosphere shifts completely in the Planétarium, which feels like an old-world astronomy study. It is filled with terrestrial globes, spyglasses, and binoculars, topped off by an incredible solar system model hanging from the ceiling as a chandelier.
Next are the Salle des Miroirs (Hall of Mirrors) and the Salon de Musique (Music Room). The former leans toward a feminine aesthetic with its birdcage and palette of pearl gray and pale yellow. The latter has a more masculine tone, where a room filled with books, musical instruments, and hat boxes will appeal to any music lover.
Modern comforts
The choice of suite comes down to your personal preference, but all of them share a few standard features: a private terrace, air conditioning, free WiFi, free private parking, cable TV, and room service (breakfast only). As for capacity, the Planétarium and the Cabinet des Curiosités can accommodate up to 6 people, while the Salle des Miroirs and the Salon de Musique are limited to 4.

From the outside, you expect something really original, but inside, it stays a relatively classic hotel, just with some themed decor.
Too bad.
