Visiting this souk, haggling hard to buy a trinket, and then sitting down for a tea... it is a typical experience you have to have in Cairo. Beyond the experience itself, the Egyptian craftsmanship offers some lovely items, especially the metal lamps. I should mention, it is very crowded, but I felt safe there.

A fortress that stands on the heights of the city, which has preserved part of its ramparts, an old Royal Palace, and which houses the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. I really like it, because we sometimes tend to reduce Egypt to the era of the Pharaohs, but this fortress reminds us that the country continued to exist afterwards! To top it all off, you will have a panoramic view of Cairo from there.

The most striking thing about Cairo to me is the contrast between the upscale neighborhoods, for example around the island and the Nile, with their luxury hotels and homes, and the slums where hordes of children follow you around to beg. Outside of that, it is a huge city, always buzzing, with chaotic traffic and quite a few things to see. It won't necessarily be for everyone.

Seeing those huge herds of herbivores moving, seeing the predators following not too far behind, seeing landscapes we thought we would only see on TV, feeling nature. I really feel like I visited another planet !

We really enjoyed this place. Everything is impeccable, well organized, and the signs are clear. There are several pavilions corresponding to different themes and different types of habitats. You can easily spend half a day going through it all, and it is a real pleasure! The animals seem well cared for and happy, with space perfectly set up for them. Special mention to the two tunnels and the dolphin show, which were highlights of our visit. You can eat on site at different restaurants and cafes, surrounded by aquariums, but it is really expensive for what it is. Also, the entrance ticket is pricey too (almost €40, or about $43). This is a theme park that doesn't get talked about enough. During the day, numerous shows will delight every member of the family and take you back through different eras of the past, from antiquity to the last century, including the Middle Ages. In the evening, several nighttime shows are also offered. Les Orgues de feux gives you a lovely, poetic story over a lake. If you can, run to see the Cinéscénie, a massive show featuring hundreds of actors and extras along with top-notch sound and light effects. Technically, I should have written my review headline in Catalan, but since I don't speak that language, I used Spanish. "Party and the beach" for those who didn't get it. Barcelona brings all that together in a big city that is dynamic and welcoming at the same time. It is less stuffy than the French Riviera, and that is not a bad thing. From an architectural standpoint, there are some pretty surprising buildings, especially the works of Gaudi (the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Batllo...), but I would not say it is a beautiful city.

Everything is said in the title. Whether it is for work, going out, partying, or meeting all kinds of people, London has really become the benchmark in Europe. On the other hand, the budget to live there or find a place to stay is super high, and the architectural style, which wildly mixes the new and the old, the beautiful and the ugly, lacks charm.

Small residential area right in the forest, a short drive from the Disney parks. A real little island of nature where you can disconnect from the city vibe. The units are spacious and comfortable, but not exactly clean, though. Hearty breakfast and the quality was totally acceptable.

Really beautiful park, almost as beautiful as the Serengeti in Tanzania. I particularly appreciated the respect shown and enforced by the Masai guides toward nature. The organization of the park itself shows this sensitivity for the preservation of the wildlife, the flora, and their natural habitat. Highly recommended!

If you visit Chantilly, you will understand that the Horse is King here. The Grandes Ecuries of the Château remind you that equestrian traditions are part of the history of the town. It is interesting to see how this translates into the modern era, with a lovely racecourse where you can attend great horse racing classics.
