Open for about three decades, Center Parcs De Haan (formerly Sunpark) sits just steps from the long sand beaches of the North Sea, west of Bruges. You can enjoy the beach, which is within walking distance, along with the many amenities of the park. All cottages feature a patio with outdoor furniture. Some of these patios offer a view of the lake. The grounds include a water park, the famous Aqua Mundo, a sauna, a children's playground, and several indoor sports courts.

Beyond relaxing in nature, you can plan city trips to nearby Bruges or Ostend. Located 30 minutes away by car, the old center of Bruges is a major site in West Flanders and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Nice setting and activities

Ideal place for a weekend or short family getaway with kids.
The pool with slides is included in the price of the stay, and you can spend long periods of time there without getting bored. There are also plenty of other activities available, even if you sometimes have to pay extra.
For cultural visits, Bruges is not too far.

You can have fun at the North Sea

I admit I tend to prefer southern destinations for vacations, so I was pleasantly surprised by my weekend spent on the North Sea coast in Belgium.
In the Center Parc, you have a heated pool and quite a few other activities. Outside of it, there is plenty to do for kids and adults alike: going for walks, biking, team sports, visiting Bruges...

Great location and well equipped, but needs better maintenance

Overall, we all had a great weekend on the coast, with a top-notch pool and plenty of outdoor activities (weather permitting).
The upkeep of the cottages and the grounds could use some improvement: not always clean, sometimes damaged...

Nice weekend on the Belgian coast

Very nice facilities for relaxing, especially the pool, getting some fresh air by the sea on foot, or visiting Bruges by car.

Relaxing and visiting Bruges

The water park, the beach, and the lake are great for relaxing, and Bruges is not too far away for going out, sightseeing, and grabbing a good meal.

The best way to experience Center Parc

Maybe not the most modern of the Center Parcs, but well located on the coast and a good deal in terms of pricing. I found the staff to be super welcoming and professional.

Sea, nature, and city getaway

This vacation park is perfectly located between the sea and the lake for walking or biking trips, and it is not too far from Bruges, which is an interesting city to visit.
It can get a bit chilly in the evening. I actually had to insist with the management to get extra blankets without paying for them.

A successful seaside getaway

What I appreciate about this Center Parc is that you can book your beach getaway without worrying about the weather, outfits, or gear to bring along to keep yourself busy. If the weather is warm and sunny, you can enjoy the sandy beach at De Haan, less than a 30-minute walk from your accommodation. If you want to go biking, play sports, or go rowing, all the equipment is available on-site. Bad weather? No problem, you can enjoy the entire covered and heated part of the park, with a water park, slides, restaurants, evening entertainment..

The rooms are large and very comfortable.

I have been there twice. The first time, I came with friends, then I came back a second time with my wife for a romantic weekend.
