About this property

Village de vacances

Imagine a small village of white cottages tucked deep into a vast forest. That is the vibe at Center Parcs Ardennes, located in the French-speaking town of Vielsalm in Belgium, about an hour from Liège. Formerly known as Sunpark Ardennes, this property has been rebranded and now focuses on better service quality and new activities.

Dozens of indoor and outdoor activities

When it comes to staying busy, travelers of all ages will find plenty to do. Kids can let off steam at the Action Factory, Laser Battle, climbing wall, caving tunnel, petting farm, quad biking, or various creative workshops designed just for them. Adults can get back into shape with beach volleyball, archery, badminton, squash, or water aerobics. To bring the whole family together, there is the signature Aqua Mundo water park featuring slides, a wave pool, a wading pool for toddlers, and a star attraction you will not find at other Center Parcs locations: the Duo Racer slide, where two side-by-side slides allow for head-to-head racing.

Up to 18 people per cottage!

The accommodations follow the same philosophy as the activities, aiming to meet everyone's specific needs. There are 3 cottage tiers available: comfort, premium, and VIP. Each includes at least a fully equipped kitchen and a furnished private terrace. You get a few extra perks in the VIP class, such as a sauna and a rainfall shower. However, the premium category deserves a special mention, as it is a great choice for large families or groups of friends with a capacity of 18 people (9 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms).

Meals at restaurants, delivered, or homemade

Between activities or after a long day, it is only natural to work up an appetite. Do not worry, this Center Parcs handles hunger well with 5 dining options and a delivery service for breakfast, pizza, or fun cooking kits. There is also a Shopping Center on-site for stocking up on groceries and other essentials.

Perfect for family reunions

For a family reunion, we were looking for a place that could sleep about fifteen people. We chose this Center Parc. We had a blast!

A nice retreat in the woods

In the wooded hills of the Ardennes, a really beautiful region, this Center Parc is top notch for spending a relaxing weekend and taking a break from the daily grind.

Beautiful mountains but the cottage was a bit basic

The region is beautiful, with the (small) Ardennes mountains, the forest, and the river. It is great for walking or biking, but it is also a bit of a workout.
A few disappointments regarding the bungalows, which are very basic. Do not expect to find mountain chalets. There was not even any dish soap, so we had to buy some at the local convenience store.
The water park area is nice, but a bit small compared to other Center Parcs, which is a shame.
One other thing, bring bags and suitcases that are easy to carry. There are only 2 parking lots, and you will likely have a fair distance to walk to load and unload your things, with uphill paths as well.

Getting away in the middle of the forest and mountains

This is the only Center Parcs I know of where you can do mountain activities. In the winter, if there is snow on the lower slopes, you can even go skiing!
As for the park itself, it is located in a wooded and hilly area that is great for biking and active hiking (though everyone goes at their own pace, of course!).

The dome is standard, just like the accommodations. However, better maintenance wouldn't hurt.
