Avoid at all costs

Poorly organized and dirty airline. The bathrooms smell all the way into the cabin, the plane is poorly maintained, and the crew is aggressive and mean, setting a bad example regarding safety. The service equipment is damaged, the seats are yellowing, and the landing was very violent. I swear it shook the cabin quite a bit:( I do not recommend flying with this airline, which has nothing on the prestige of Air France or other European airlines!!

Clean and safe airline that operates Airbus A319, A320, and A300 aircraft. The cabin crew is warm and the prices are unbeatable. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com

If someone gave me the choice between flying with Lufthansa or Tunisair, I would pick the second one. Warm welcome and top-notch pilots. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com

Fly with peace of mind

Hello everyone. First of all, let me introduce myself. I am a young Tunisian engineer living in Paris. The review from SkyTeam got a reaction out of me, and I would like to share my own experience. I travel back to Tunisia often (about 7 to 8 times a year). Most of the time I take Tunisair, except when it is unavailable, and it is only in that case that I take Air France. This is not out of blind bias, but simply the observation that Tunisair is much better than Air France. Far be it from me to disparage Air France, which remains a very good airline, especially compared to American carriers (anyone who often takes Delta or American will understand me). But in any case, it is clear that the service is much better on Tunisair flights. Honestly, the service on Tunisair is far superior to that of Air France. At least there is something to eat. I am not saying it is excellent or gourmet, but it is very good. If the gentleman is a real foodie, business class (or Espace Privilège as they call it at Tunisair) exists for that. Regarding safety and the planes, the gentleman is clearly very poorly informed about the maintenance rules imposed by IATA (the international body managing civil aviation). It is not the airline that decides the maintenance rules, but IATA that controls all of that, and it depends on the market (basically, all planes that land in France are subject to the same rules). And of course, no airline has any interest in skimping on safety and maintenance, because an accident would be disastrous in terms of image. And I do not see how someone who clearly has no competence in mechanics or physics could say that a pilot is incompetent. Every year, IATA publishes a ranking of "safe" airlines, and Tunisair is near the top. You can check that on the IATA website. And then, a landing is subject to so many variables that pulling off a perfect landing every time is purely impossible. A simple gust of wind can slightly move the plane and cause a jolt upon landing. But the planes are designed to withstand much more than that. Regarding Tunisian pilots, they have completed the same training as their French or American counterparts (usually the ENAC in Toulouse for the French). They are neither more nor less competent than the others, and they are subject to the same system of continuous training and annual skill verification through simulator tests. Regarding delays, there are no more or fewer than at Air France, and a one-time experience can in no way be representative. And since the rules have changed, and airlines have to pay exorbitant amounts for every delay, delays of more than a quarter of an hour have become very rare. Except in the case of late passengers, of course. To summarize, and without wanting to be insulting, I would say that either this gentleman tried to disparage Tunisair for no reason, or he considers everything that comes from a developing country to be inferior. So, Mr. Skyteam, we will do without your baseless and lying remarks. Do not base your decision on his opinion. And come to Tunisia, it is a country that is really worth discovering. It is really not clean

Tunisair is an airline to avoid for very simple reasons: the food, the smells, and the rudeness of the flight attendants. As for the safety side, it is not managed by Tunisians, so no problem there. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com

My thoughts on Tunisair

We just took a regularly scheduled Tunisair flight from Paris to Djerba round trip at the end of January. The flights were perfect, although the captain did not make any announcements. Schedules were respected. The plane was well maintained in terms of cleanliness. The staff was pleasant without being warm. They were more so with Arabic speakers. The food was very decent. My take on Tunisair

This has nothing to do with everything I have just read, as some people on both sides are taking things to the extreme. Everyone knows that we do not live in a perfect world, alas. You have to stay zen and keep a critical mind. Regardless, we always have a choice!!! I wanted to report facts and share my feelings following the incidents I experienced the other day during my return to Paris on May 3rd. That day, I found the attitude of the ground staff (I imagine they are attached to TUNISAIR) inadmissible for the Tunisian that I am, and totally unacceptable for the foreigner that I could have been. In normal times, I have always been rather proud of our company, but that day I was rather ashamed to be Tunisian. In the queue, there was also a group of French people who said they had spent a rather pleasant stay, apart from a few incidents that have always contributed to Tunisia's reputation (exaggerated taxi fares, little trinkets at the souks, etc.), and right then, to top it all off, they were going to experience part of what my family and I had lived through. As they know how to do well, and calmly, they obviously expressed their dissatisfaction to the relevant authorities. Frankly, I was very glad not to be one of the station managers on duty that day. The conflation between Tunisair, Tunisia, and Tunisians was made quickly and severely. It wasn't that I didn't want to, but the poor man already had his hands full with just 3 or 4 travelers, and I can assure you that it lasted for a good few tens of minutes. Honestly, it was enough to make a "Koala" angry. Personally, I had bought my tickets a month in advance and I insisted that it be on scheduled flights, precisely to avoid this kind of incident. I imagine that I therefore paid full price. Furthermore, the day before the return, I confirmed my 4 seats on flight TU 718, and in person, please. Just when it was time to check the luggage, this same station manager, without explanation and without preliminary information, announced to us that our flight was delayed until 1:40 PM!!! We were all obviously in the right line where the correct flight references were displayed. I found this detail quite suspicious, and while my luggage was being checked, I asked for the reasons. The answer was spontaneous and natural, this gentleman explained to me that the plane arrived very late that morning from another destination. It was at the end of my check-in that I realized in fact that these were lies. On the boarding passes, the flight references had changed and we found ourselves suddenly booked on the following flight, which was actually the TU 2004. And then, of course, having seen your bags go, you realize that you are kind of stuck. You ask again for the why and how of what is happening, and you are told that it is just how it is and that, ultimately, we have no choice (abuse and position of strength, arrogance, and absence of consideration and respect). Furthermore, no assistance was provided: 2 extra hours to kill at the airport. I am the first to be sorry, but just like the foreigners, I think that was the last time I took a TUNISAIR flight.

My take on Tunisair

I think the Tunisian airline has some good sides, like the food is reheated in sufficient quantities even in economy, and the flying conditions are good. As for safety, I cannot really give an opinion even though I am a regular traveler, but I hope everything is up to standard in everyone's best interest. However, there is one downside regarding some of the staff, which is a recurring observation on flights I have taken at random. Some flight attendants seem to give off a certain arrogance and a haughty attitude toward passengers in economy. Is it a mindset, or a lack of professionalism with a tendency toward blatant favoritism? In short, it is not serious in itself. Only, it can be shocking for a clientele that expects to be respected, as is the case with other European airlines. It is a pity that such details inherent to certain individuals spoil the company's clear search for quality. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com

My take on Tunisair

I ran into a problem with Tunisair. My son's suitcase, as he was leaving for vacation to visit his grandparents in Tunisia, was destroyed before the plane even took off. Belongings were stolen, and nobody was able to tell me what had happened or where half of the suitcase went!!! They just brought me back the remaining items, which were completely tossed around. No one from Tunisair came to help me. This is what the Tunisair manager told me: figure it out, find a suitcase, I am not going to delay the flight for you. Either you leave without your luggage, or you stay behind with your luggage. Yep! That is not a joke (that is the politeness of the Tunisair manager). Luckily, Air France was there to help me put my 6-year-old son's things into trash bags since it was impossible to find suitcases at the airport. It has been over a year that I have been fighting with Tunisair to get compensated. I provided some of the receipts for the stolen items for reimbursement, but with them, you can keep waiting forever to get anything. It is not a big deal, they drag things out so that I give up, but no way, what happened at the airport was shameful. Everyone walking by asked us what happened and they were shocked to see only half of a suitcase. I followed up with Tunisair every month and I paid for the registered mail fees plus phone calls, and here were their answers: we are checking on the file in Tunis, we are checking, we are checking and we are checking, etc. In August 2008, I still saw nothing coming from them. That is when I filed a complaint with my travel agency, which did its best, and by some miracle, on 10/23/08, I received a letter from Tunisia telling me that if I accept, they would only reimburse me 135 euros.!!!!!!!! At that point, I think they are messing with me. And no, it is true, this is what they replied to the travel agency: either the 135 euros or nothing. Super Tunisair!!!! Honestly, I have nothing to say about the Tunisair flights, but if you run into a small or a huge problem with the airline, you can keep waiting forever to get anything from them. Not even an apology. They completely do not care about customers, they are absolutely not friendly with you, I have the impression that they are trained not to be friendly, they act like they are superior to you even though they are nothing to me except human beings like all of us. Of course, for my case, I am not giving up and I have seen a lawyer who has taken my case in hand (of course still at my own expense), but it is not a big deal, we are just waiting for what happens next!!!!<br>Avis importé le 04/11/2020 depuis notre ancien site Voyage-Net.com

Pretty decent

On April 26, I flew from Bordeaux to Monastir on a Tunisair A320. We boarded on time (10:15 AM). The flight lasted about 2 hours. The quick safety demonstration was followed by the meal service, and the food was pretty satisfactory. We hit some turbulence after takeoff for about 15 minutes. The flight crew consisted of two stewardesses and one steward, one of whom was unpleasant. After that, we were kept busy by the duty free sales, so we didn't get bored. While the exterior of the plane looked fine, the interior really left something to be desired. The overhead bins were damaged and scratched, the seats were a bit dirty with leftovers from the previous flight, and the lighting panel on the ceiling looked a bit greasy. This was my first time flying, and I felt completely safe and wasn't scared. I recommend Tunisair to other travelers.

My thoughts on Tunisair

My opinion is very negative. Hello, I flew with Tunisair for the first time in Sept. I found the planes dirty, but the worst part is that they stole my iPod from my suitcase and they refuse to reimburse me. Value CHF 299 (about $340). So, check your suitcases as soon as you arrive at the airport because otherwise you won't be able to file a complaint. Simply put, do not fly with Tunisair. AVOID TUNISAIR AT ALL COSTS

Hello, I want to warn any future Tunisair passengers to AVOID THIS AIRLINE because, aside from the name, it has nothing to do with being an airline. I am sharing my experience as a Tunisian living in France for over 20 years who flies the NICE-TUNIS route 4 to 5 times a year:

- Flights are most often delayed with no possibility of being compensated (they just offer you miles). I advise you to go through skymediator online (to avoid Tunisair customer service, which is indifferent) as they will take care of defending you and getting you compensated... and it works.
- Staff are incompetent, rude, careless, and irresponsible.
- No "ranking" company representative is available when passengers are unhappy. They are generally hiding in their offices. Only lower level staff try to deal with these situations, but they end up leaving the boarding area and leaving passengers waiting.
- No medicine available to passengers, not even a pill for a headache (at the boarding level, while still on the ground), but they force you to leave the airport, and therefore miss your flight, if you want them to call a doctor for you.
- I have already lost my return seat twice because the flight was overbooked, despite my return being confirmed (I had to pay a €50 bribe to a Tunisair agent just to get my seat back and return to Nice).
- No one takes care of you when you arrive in Nice in the evening. The station manager disappears, the Tunisair desk is closed, and no compensation is provided (transport, hotel, restaurant...). And that is just naming a few things....

Since my last bad experience with Tunisair, I take Air France, because I only have the choice between Tunisair and Air France on the Nice-Tunis route. It is certainly a little more expensive (just a few euros), but in return, you are treated like a passenger, they listen to you, they respond to your needs, they take care of you at the slightest issue, and the managers are always present.

A company in crisis, which is not far from liquidation, is doing everything to sink even further!!! Is this a typically Tunisian mentality? That is the question I ask myself as a Tunisian.

PS: It is even worse when you take the ferry from Genoa or Marseille via the CTN (Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation). It is like transporting cattle and not human beings.

My thoughts on Tunisair

Tunisair....you really have to wonder how this airline is still in business! 8 hours of delay on my departure flight and 3 hours on the way back! To make up for it, just a dry sandwich and a drink... Their planes are dirty, and having traveled on quite a few airlines, I have to admit that this is the first and last time I travel with them!
