Personally, I don't really like visiting places that are super popular with tourists. The crowds have bothered me ever since the rise of Instagram tourism. But you have to admit, the Eiffel Tower is one of those places that remains iconic, and just looking at it tells a story. You have to visit the Eiffel Tower at least once for the symbolism. Just plan your visit in advance, because once again, there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of people!

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is impressive, even without going inside. From the outside, you really wonder how it is still standing. The site is very photogenic, even if there are almost always a lot of people around. It is worth seeing if you are in the area, but it is not necessarily a must-see on its own. I much prefer an extended visit to Florence, which is full of charm and cultural riches.

This is a monument you shouldn't miss if you're traveling in Tuscany. I still wonder how it stays standing, because the tilt is more pronounced than I imagined. I visited in the late afternoon and with the fading light, it was beautiful to see. With uneven steps, the climb is pretty tiring, but getting to the top is really worth it. Remember to book your tickets well in advance and don't bring young children, who won't be allowed to climb. Right next to the tower, the Piazza dei Miracoli also houses a beautiful cathedral and an impressive baptistery.

Even if the Eiffel Tower might be seen as a tourist trap, it remains a must-see monument to visit in Paris. I still recommend that you at least go up a few floors, as it is really worth it. The view is impressive. Remember to book your tickets in advance because there are huge crowds.

I know the Eiffel Tower is pretty divisive, but I think it is beautiful. That said, I would have plenty of other places to recommend to someone who has never been to Paris. The Champ de Mars and the Trocadero are packed with street vendors, which creates a real nuisance when you are walking around, especially with family. Also, the area underneath the structure is not as accessible as it used to be, because of (or thanks to, depending on how you look at it) the anti-terrorist measures taken following the many attacks that have hit the country. I went back recently and was really disappointed by the vibe, even if the Eiffel Tower itself remains magnificent.

The TV Tower is one of the symbols of Berlin. You can spot it from far away when you are in the city. But the best thing is to go up to enjoy the panorama. It is necessary to get your tickets in advance because there are a lot of people. For my part, I found the view truly incredible.

There is no other monument like this one. It is worth seeing at least once, up close or from afar. Because nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes.

I made a detour to check out the Leaning Tower of Pisa while I was staying near Florence. I was a little bit disappointed by my visit. The tower is not all that impressive. If you are only staying in Florence for a few days, I would suggest you skip the trip to Pisa.
