Napoleon Square is the heart of La Roche-sur-Yon. Spacious and well-designed, it blends history and modernity with the statue of Napoleon as the central point. The green spaces make the place pleasant and lively. It is the go-to spot for a stroll, meeting up on a terrace, and enjoying the local vibe of La Roche-sur-Yon.

I went there when I was little with my parents and again recently, and the park gave me the exact same thrills! You don't need to be a history buff to enjoy the shows. It is a park on a human scale, which really shines a light on the Vendée region and all the volunteers who participate. A truly inspiring example of French craftsmanship!

The castle is located right near the town center of Noirmoutier. Nice visit to the castle. Plan on about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The museum is worth seeing. A great moment to learn a little more about the history of Noirmoutier. Note that access to the courtyard is free.

Very pretty beach, but what I like best is the access through the pine forest. A really beautiful, soothing, wild setting. Best discovered in the off-season. In the summer, there are obviously a lot of vacationers who come to admire the beauties of the island.

Puy du Fou is simply exceptional. The daytime shows are grandiose, immersive, and perfectly paced. They are capable of amazing both kids and adults alike. Every production is impressive. And what can I say about the Cinéscénie at night: a unique, spectacular, and unforgettable moment that ends the visit on a high note. Remember to book ahead.

My first trip to Puy du Fou (2022) was a Christmas gift from my wife, and she really went all out! We stayed in one of the park's hotels (Le Grand Siècle) and had two days to make the most of it. That meant I didn't feel frustrated, because I was able to do every single activity on offer. The shows are spectacular (shout out to Le Dernier Panache and Les Mousquetaires de Richelieu). Every year, I find the same joy!

A park lost in the middle of the Vendée that has really made a name for itself. Breathtaking shows, impressive actors and stunt performers, and well-crafted music and sound and light effects. You are bound to be enchanted by a visit to Puy du Fou, especially if you love history and the performing arts. I recommend planning your route in advance, especially if you are only going for one day, as the lines can be long in the summer!

Puy du Fou offers some truly incredible shows that will please both kids and adults alike. The park is huge, so I recommend staying for a few days if you have the chance. Definitely do not miss the Cinéscénie, which you need to book separately from your ticket. The admission price is pretty fair.

My favorite French park! There are no thrill rides here, although... the shows are all breathtaking! You can admire chariot races, Viking battles, and bird acrobatics, not to mention the exceptional Cinéscénie, which you absolutely cannot miss! Plan on two days to fully enjoy all the performances. While the purely historical aspect doesn't always hold up, with a very Vendée-focused bias that can sometimes be annoying, the park really showcases state of the art performance techniques. This is a theme park that doesn't get talked about enough. During the day, numerous shows will delight every member of the family and take you back through different eras of the past, from antiquity to the last century, including the Middle Ages. In the evening, several nighttime shows are also offered. Les Orgues de feux gives you a lovely, poetic story over a lake.
