The Vranken Pommery Estate features 18 km of UNESCO-listed cellars and annual contemporary art exhibitions, located 30 meters underground in Gallo-Roman chalk pits. Your visit continues at the Villa Demoiselle, a restored Art Nouveau mansion furnished with pieces by Gallé, Majorelle, and Lalique. A champagne tasting is included with every ticket.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Reims houses one of the top French collections dedicated to Camille Corot, alongside a version of The Death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David. Its holdings grew starting in 1794 from revolutionary confiscations and the bequest of Henry Vasnier.
The building is currently closed for renovation work. You can still catch several major pieces on display during off-site exhibitions.
Right next to the cathedral, this former archbishop's palace houses the museum of royal coronations. Your tour takes you from the expansive Banquet Hall to the two vaulted chambers of the Treasury.
Inside, you will find monumental statues, historic tapestries, and the velvet coronation robe of Charles X, kept in the salle Charles-X.
Archbishop Aubry de Humbert began building Reims Cathedral in 1211 after fire destroyed the Carolingian original. Construction of the main structure finished in 1275. Famous for its intricate labyrinth until 1778, this UNESCO World Heritage site displays 2,303 statues. Twenty-four French kings were crowned here, following in the footsteps of Clovis.

I took advantage of a weekend in Reims to head over to the Vranken Pommery Estate. With its small, well-kept park and Elizabethan architecture, you really feel like you are somewhere else. Without a doubt the prettiest complex in the region. To discover the cellars, I booked a guided tour that included a tasting.
While wandering through the underground tunnels, which are very impressive and enhanced by unique artistic works, I learned a lot about how champagne is made and stored. After a nice glass, it is hard to resist the gift shop, there is plenty to treat yourself with!
