65 meters of empty space under your feet on a century old viaduct in the Pilat massif
Constructed between 1896 and 1905, the Saut à l'élastique au Viaduc de Pélussin spans the Rhône valley for 170 meters and reaches a height of 65 meters. From this stone arch, tucked away on the eastern flank of the Pilat massif, you can experience one of the most accessible bungee jumps in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
The experience walkthrough
Upon arrival, a thorough briefing precedes the gear setup, which includes ankle bindings and a harness. The jump itself lasts a few intense seconds, followed by rebounds over the void. The ascent back up is via a prepared path running alongside the viaduct. A personalized certificate is given to each jumper after the experience. A video option filmed from the bridge is available when booking.
Solo, tandem, or double jump: available options
The individual jump is the standard package. It is also possible to jump two at once (tandem) with a cumulative weight limit of 140 kg (about 308 lbs). For those who want more, a double jump on the same day is offered at a reduced rate. A specific package exists for bachelor and bachelorette parties, where the jump and video are free for the bride or groom when booking for at least four paying participants.
The site complies with the AFNOR (French Association for Standardization) regulations governing bungee jumping activities in France. Wear closed-toe athletic shoes with laces, as sandals and open-toe footwear are not permitted on the platform.
For whom: Thrill seekers weighing at least 40 kg (about 88 lbs), groups of friends, couples, and bachelor or bachelorette parties. Minors are welcome with written parental consent. A medical certificate is required for anyone 55 or older.
Less suitable if: You are pregnant, have heart or spinal medical contraindications, or if you were hoping to film with your own GoPro, as personal recording devices are not allowed.
