Visiting Aqualand Port Leucate
You get a unique view of the sea and the city from the top of the giant slides at Aqualand Port Leucate, a water park right on the Mediterranean coast. It is located between Narbonne and Perpignan in the Aude department (11).
Attractions for everyone
Facing the beach and offering a wide range of aquatic activities, this park in the south of France is a great way to break up your time lounging on the sand and avoid the crowds you might find in places like the French Riviera. Not far from the water, you will find 7 attractions categorized into three levels based on their intensity: blue (accessible to everyone), red (for a thrill), and black (for the most daring swimmers).
The park includes a swimming pool, the Congo River (a lazy river for a single tube ride), and the Mini Park (a large wading pool with water jets and small slides featuring a giant pirate ship that is perfect for toddlers to play captain).
The park highlights: slides and scenery
The main draw is the 4 giant slides, which offer a moment of weightlessness and adrenaline with a clear view of the coastal town of Leucate. While only one slide is rated black, the Niagara, the others still provide plenty of excitement. This includes the Crazy Race, a multi-lane slide with humps, the Anaconda, a steep and winding slide, and the Black Hole, which takes you down in total darkness. Keep in mind that all of these have minimum height requirements.
Services for a relaxing day
There are no height requirements for grabbing ice cream, crepes, or other snacks at the various on-site dining spots like the fast-food kiosks and ice cream bars. You also have plenty of space to take a break on the provided lounge chairs and under the parasols in the relaxation area.
