Where to stay near Beauval Zoo: the 2 areas to know in 2026
The park itself writes the argument that settles this: its hotels give reduced-price entry and unlimited access for the whole stay. And all eleven of our reviews of the zoo circle around the same thing, its length. ValNomad: « you need to plan for at least one day ». MathildeFlor: « you will need at least the whole day if you want to see everything ». Ariane settles it for families: « two days might be necessary to see everything and enjoy it, especially with little ones ».
And our fourteen reviews of the five hotels on the estate say what comes next, which you will read nowhere else: five of them warn that it is too far on foot. jedi2: « you have to take the car to get to the zoo ». Three others speak instead of the zoo being « just two steps away ». Between the two groups there are 620 metres on one side and 3.9 kilometres of road on the other.

The two ways to stay near Beauval Zoo
The dated ticket is bought online from $44* for an adult and $36* for a child aged 3 to 10, against $49 and $41* at the park's own desks. Guests of the estate's hotels, for their part, get a reduced rate and unlimited access for their whole stay: what is being decided here is whether you can come out of the park during the day.
| What changes | On the Route de Beauval | At Le Paradis or in the town |

| Who it suits | Anyone coming with young children | Anyone coming by car and counting |
How long to the entrance, area by area?
Two measurements, and two methods, because the two areas are not reached the same way: on the Route de Beauval, STRAIGHT LINES to the park, since you walk and the public OSRM server has no walking profile; at Le Paradis and in the town, ROAD distances and times, since five of our reviews say you need the car.
| From | Time | How |
|---|---|---|
| The Route de Beauval, at the foot of the enclosures | 620 and 720 m | on foot Both addresses are on the road that leads to the ticket desks. |
| Le Paradis and the town of Saint-Aignan | 3 to 6 min | by car 2.2 kilometres for the closest of the three, 3.9 for the other two. |

The Route de Beauval, at the foot of the enclosures 620 and 720 metres away, and two pools
Anyone coming with young children
The two hotels set on the road that leads to the ticket desks: 620 and 720 metres, which is what Kat sums up as « the Zoo de Beauval is really just a 5-minute walk away ». With the unlimited access given to hotel guests, that changes the day: you go out for the little ones' nap and come back. Our seven reviews from here cite the two pools and the spa; two also flag the price and the quality of the buffets.
the Zoo de Beauval is really just a 5-minute walk away!

Le Paradis and the town of Saint-Aignan From 2.2 to 3.9 kilometres by road
Anyone coming by car, in a group, or to cook
Three addresses further out, and the same word comes back in five of our reviews: on foot, it is too much. Galactic puts it bluntly, « it is a bit of a walk from Zoo de Beauval (by car, the trip only takes a few minutes) ». In exchange, these addresses offer what the first two do not: apartments with a fitted kitchen, room for eight, and free parking.
you have to take the car to get to the zoo. It is pretty quick by car, but on foot, it is a bit too far, especially if you have young children with you

3.9 kilometres and 5 minutes by car, in the centre of Saint-Aignan, and the choice of anyone who cooks: Thomas rented « an apartment for a group of 8 people, which is always complicated to find », and Carole notes that the fitted kitchen « helps save money on meals ». Both find the pool small.

Our tips for booking the right place
- The unlimited access of the park's hotels, and what it really changes: The park reserves it for guests of its hotels: reduced-price entry, and unlimited access to the ZooParc for the whole length of the stay. That is not a comfort detail, it is what lets you come out in the middle of the day and go back in afterwards, and therefore what makes a full day of zoo workable with young children. You still have to be able to come out: from the Route de Beauval that is 620 or 720 metres on foot; from the town it is 3.9 kilometres of road and the car twice. The five reviews from our members that say « too far on foot » are talking about exactly this.
- One day or two, and our eleven reviews do not quite say the same thing: Four of our members give the same minimum. ValNomad: « you need to plan for at least one day to fully enjoy it ». julies_journeys: « an immense zoological park that deserves a full day ». MathildeFlor: « you will need at least the whole day if you want to see everything ». jedi2: « we spent an entire day there without even noticing the time passing ». Ariane is the most precise, and she is the one who helps decide the number of nights: « for me, one day is enough to get around. However, you still have to walk for several hours and two days might be necessary to see everything and enjoy it, especially with little ones ». The dated two-day ticket costs $71* online against twice $44* for two one-day tickets, a gap of $17*: the second day therefore costs less than the first.
- The pandas leave on 17 December 2026: Yuandudu and Huanlili, born at Beauval on 2 August 2021, are the park's only two giant pandas, and they leave for China on 17 December 2026. An agreement signed in December 2025 provides for the arrival of a new pair, a male and a female, whose date has not been announced. In other words: a stay that comes for the pandas belongs before that date, and a January stay will see none. Our member Shanour K wrote « I was especially looking forward to seeing the pandas (I was actually lucky enough to see them, since it seems like they have all returned to China) »: he was talking about the first ones, Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, who left on 25 November 2025.
- The glass-bottom cable cars, cited by three of our members: It is what comes up most in our reviews after the size of the park. julies_journeys: « the most impressive part is the glass-bottom cable cars that allow you to fly over the park with the enclosures under your feet ». Ariane: « I also loved the transparent cable car cabins that fly over the park. It is very impressive to admire the elephants right under our feet ». Laure D cites for her part « the dome that acts as a greenhouse, which you can reach by a mini cable car ». These are attractions with queues, so things you redo more easily across two half-days than in a single one.
- What our reviews hold against it, and there is only one complaint: Across eleven reviews of the place, eight give 5 out of 5 and one single point comes back: Shanour K writes « a small downside: some enclosures, especially for the big cats, really are not very big ». Elayne, who gives 4, puts the question differently: « it is an activity the kids enjoy, but if it were not for them, I would not have necessarily taken a full day to go there ». Laure D, also 4 out of 5, says the opposite of the cliché: « the park is big enough that you do not feel overwhelmed by the crowds ». The rest of the reviews talk about space, convincing settings and rare species.
- Booking in the town while counting on walking: five of our reviews say it is too far on foot.
- Coming for the pandas after 17 December 2026: the two twins leave for China that day.
- Buying your ticket at the park's desks: it costs $49* instead of $44* online for an adult.
- Planning a single day with young children: one of our members advises two days in that case.
