Visiting the Sky Tower, the peak of Auckland
An exceptional panorama of Auckland
Dominating the urban skyline, the Sky Tower is the tallest structure in New Zealand, reaching a height of 328 meters. It offers 360-degree panoramic views of Auckland, the Hauraki Gulf, and beyond. For travelers, it is a unique chance to see the city from a new perspective, especially from the observation levels reached by a glass-walled elevator. On a clear day, you can see landscapes stretching up to 80 kilometers from the top.
Activities for thrill-seekers
The Sky Tower offers two pulse-pounding experiences for the brave. The SkyWalk, a platform at 192 meters, allows you to walk safely around the tower on a narrow ledge while taking in the impressive views. For an even more intense adrenaline rush, the SkyJump offers a controlled base jump from the tower, providing an unforgettable, dizzying experience.
Dining and relaxation at altitude
The Sky Tower is more than just an observation deck. It also houses several dining options, including the elegant revolving restaurant Orbit. Here, you can enjoy refined local dishes while watching the views of Auckland and its surroundings shift. For a more casual experience, the Sky Café offers drinks and snacks in a spectacular setting, perfect for a break with a view.

Choose a day when the weather is nice to go up to the observation deck. The view is truly magnificent and spectacular with a super long range.
Some tips:
- The entrance is hidden in the basement of the Sky hotel, it took me a while to find it!
- Minors are not allowed in the Sky Bar, good to know if you are coming with children. They are welcome at the Orbit restaurant, but the prices are not the same, and you need a reservation most of the time...
